Trunk randomly open?

I'll leave my car parked overnight, and I am careful to not click anything on the key when I lock it at night, and in the mornings when I start her up it says trunk ajar. I go to the trunk and it is open, and sometimes I have to slam it 2-3 times to get it closed. Am I locking the car wrong at night ? (Clicking lock twice until I hear the beep)

That doesn't sound right. The "lock catcher" might need adjustment or replacement all together, Id take it in as it shouldn't be a difficult repair.

Some of the guys in the Issue, Repair, warranty, TSB sub forum on here have reported difficulty shutting their trunk due to misalignment of the trunk. Do a search in that subform and see what you come up with.

Why are you clicking twice? To lock all you need to do is click once on the button with the closed lock icon.

I'd probably agree with the others about something being wonky with the latch but I may have, once or twice, hit the trunk button inside while trying to open the sunglass compartment...

I had the same problem. Took it to the body shop and they realigned it - seems to be functioning normally now.

At least until the last week or so my door handle's been to covered in salt to do the touch-sensor thing. And I wouldn't trust it anyway; call it OCD or whatever but I don't walk away until I hear the horn beep, usually five or six honks, to make sure it's locked.
