Any idea what could be causing this on a stock car other than a catback and drop in filter with 12k miles? Taking to dealer tomorrow just curious.

IF they mention anything about the catback or drop-in filter ... take it to another dealer.

Evaporative purge valve would be a likely suspect. Usually a $50 - $150 part. They fail fairly often especially if one tends to top off the gas tank.

To update, Ford could not replicate the code and all systems passed, so I guess for now I am good!

My wife's Fusion would very occasionally throw an EVAP code for the purge valve but every time I tested it it seemed to work fine and the code would go away. It did this for about a year and a half until it finally started to just die when she came to a stop. $120 for the part and 15 minutes for the install and its been fine since.
Symptoms to watch for are a falling idle at stops, especially after a fillup. And the car just dying at idle for no apparent reason. There are others but those are the ones I've experienced first hand on three different Ford cars. And, as I said before, try not to top off the tank after the gas pump shuts off. Doing so will exacerbate the problem.

On my daughters previous car, she had this same code pop up. They replaced it. I tried to state it fell under the emissions warranty, (her car was out of 3/36, but we had the extended warranty.) but apparently Ford somehow said it didnt. Not like the code says its emissions related or anything So, I paid the deductible and had it replaced.
