Interesting thread. Hopefully soon we will have some numbers and first hand accounts about this set up.

No worries, just want everyone to have the proper info and they can then make the choice that best suits there goals. I like what Edelbrock did, I think it far surpasses the Roush design. It's funny, Roush's last PR blast stated how much CAD and R&D work went into the new design (hmmm carry over from previous generation and still needs block grinding and K-brace demolishing), but a system like ours or this Edelbrock system has true engineering and ingenuity, I respect the amount of thought and work that went into this new system.

The calibration and emissions will be very tough, but I'm sure they will get it with some time and hard work.
As well - thanks for all the info Dustin. Steeda Pompano is nearby so they would be my go-to for FI and they are a Whipple dealer - not an Edelbrock dealer.

As an aside - is Steve Whipple, VP Marketing Edelbrock, related? I would only point that out, if true :headbang:, to say that's amazing and that it then must run in the family - and NOT to be any kind of smartass.

This^^^^ I can't express how much this^^^^^

There is no "best blower" or "best kit". It's all about the customer getting the best kit for their desires, needs, expectations, etc. And this can only be done if the customer has a full and accurate perspective of what is available. Making purchasing decisions of this magnitude based solely on marketing gobblygook (magazine articles, advertising, puff pieces, etc) in a lot of cases will not achieve the desired results.

Bless all of you looking for 600+ rwhp and associated torque with/without associated mods. I was young(er)(ish) once

I am looking for maybe 600hp at the crank - no more than 500 at the wheels. I think that's a bit much for just bolt ons and I really don't want to go inside for cams, head work, etc.

E-Force, Whipple, and even ProCharger are still considerations for me, but I'm thinking the out of the box E-Force might be closer to my needs and that the 700 (crank) HP they are talking about are Stage 2 or 3 setups. We'll find out soon enough.

While it may be extreme underlie, can a Whipple or ProCharger - or any base line blower be tuned to "underperform" to the levels I am looking for?

Thanks,

Pete

PS
Ahhh...I fondly remember by Edelbrock aluminum Tarantula intake and Holley 650 carb sitting on my 70 vette 350 small block. Brings a tear to me eye. Some of you weren't even born then.
These cars are big and heavy, so although 500rwhp sounds like a lot, it's really not in these cars. 500rwhp in a 79-93 mustang is a lot different then 500rwhp in a 2015 mustang. I'm pretty sure you will be plenty happy with the 600rwhp if you want just a cruiser.

Point well made and taken. That's closer to 700 at the crank I guess. This is a 2016 PP 6sp vert with (unfortunately for FI) 3.73 gears so not easily smoking the tires is a concern.

To tell you the truth one of my concerns is warranty on the drivetrain. I realize that this has been discussed before. One of the nice things about the Edelbrock is the 3/3600 limited power train warranty.

For my purposes, I am less concerned about an "oops" with the blower - Whipple, ProCharger, KB - and the usual suspects have - proved that as long as the owner does not go outside the limits of the drive train the tunes are safe.

But, as the saying goes, sh*t happens that may very well have nothing to do with the blower so for me it is important getting - or buying - peace of mind insurance/warranty.

You can purchase a warranty from whipple don't remember the cost, and yeah I've got 3.73 and will swap to 3.31 when I get a SC

Remember the warranty's all start the day you purchased your car not the blower install date.

That would probably make me feel better about getting one, just knowing who really makes the blower. Does anyone know if in fact it does or will, should I say, make better power and torque in the lower RPM range because of it's positioning?
I'm asking because I plan on adding a SC to my Vert with auto. down the line. As someone else mentioned I won't be taking my car to the strip so upper end power would be nice but I'd like something that will give the car a lot of mid RPM range power(2500-5500)....You know, just some good sporty streetable power for a daily driver...:)

Absolutely not. Not even a tiny bit.
