So I took the car to the dyno this morning. We ran into some slip in 7th gear so we ended up needing to use 6th instead. From the numbers we were able to get from 7th, 6th reads about 25whp less than 7th did.

In 7th with the slipping trans we saw 638whp
In 6th we averaged 615whp/538wtrq

For those who will want to compare it to a Whipple GenV, the stage 1 is usually putting down around 640whp and 480-490wtrq. So the Edelbrock is matching it on power and killing it on torque.

I do believe there is more in this set up than the dyno shows, but I'm not chasing dyno #'s so im not all that concerned over it, I mostly wanted to see how the hp/trq graphs looked. I was actually quite surprised to see WHP carry on to the way it did even though it's still on the stock TB and airbox. We revved the car out to 8200 and only in the top of the pulls did power start to fall off.

The red and blue graphs show he difference between 15* and 16* of timing, the green was a more conservative one at 13*.

Mods are the Edelbrock 158320 supercharger kit and a magna flow cat back exhaust, the car still has the stock headers/cats, stock airbox as seen in pics, and stock TB. With a set of Long tubes, 103mm TB and the new intake I can def see the stage 1 kit being capable of 700+whp on 93 octane.

What u gonna do about the trans?
Going to try applying more pressure, but if that doesn't work then I will have to dyno in 6th going forward and just know that the numbers are much lower. One thing that was mentioned to me as well is to double check the trans fluid, operantly some 10r80's left the factory 1-2qrts low and topping it back off seems to help with the slippage.

Eventually I do plan to swap in a set of Mcleod clutches in as well, just waiting for other to posts results on them before I commit to doing it.

Avoid 7th :cwl:
This too ^

Although 7th is only a issue on the dyno, or if I try to log from low RPM, if I go through 7th while racing it does not slip, this is prob because its shifting from 6>7 and staying at high RPM, which makes more whp, but less wrtq

I've seen hardcore racers in 18+ GTs put a 29.5" rear tire on the car and change the rear gear to stay out of 7th on the drag strip. I doubt you make enough power or race your car hard enough to justify any of that, though.

I just might end up doing that myself, I'm on 3.55's so I will definitely need to swap to 3.31's down the road when I do the TB, intake and e85 upgrades. The goal is to make 950+whp, will aim for 1000, but would settle for >900whp

I have 19x10's, so im limited in tires, 305/35/19 is widest/tallest I can do and it's only ~27", I'll need 17x10's to do a 28"

Isn't the 1:1 gear the proper gear to dyno in?

It is ideal to dyno in a 1:1 gear but that is not always possible. Case in point, the 6R80 does not have a 1:1, so 4 gear is used since it's close to 1:1. Other vehicles such as the F150 can be dangerous to dyno in 1:1 due to wheel and driveshaft speed.

Nice results OP. This is REPEATABLE power to expect on 93 octane when using stock exhaust, stock throttle body and stock intake.

A lot of big numbers are with E85 or a combination of 93 plus octane booster. What data are you comparing the OPs 93 octane results to?

I put down 675 wheel on a stock 2015 car, whipple canned tune, on 91 at 3,500 elevation on a whipple stage 2 and I was disappointed because others are cracking 700's easily. I'd be upset if I was putting down low 600's after all that money spent when NA guy's are getting 550whp on 18's.
