I’m seriously looking at the 2300 with the super deals right now.

But I also know it’s not the latest or greatest. Trying to leverage cost versus performance.

What are the limitations of this model? What can I expect power wise out of it?

Is it upgradeable in the future or kind of stuck with whatcha got.

Not a lot of information regarding this. There’s one thread and he went 10.4 with it...

At 5k, great deal. But don’t want to sell myself short.

Car is a 16 auto convertible.

I’ve been trying to get forced induction for months but haven’t pulled the trigger. Not for lack of trying. It’s much more of a cost commitment being in Ontario. Even the 5k will end up closer to 10k with tax, import, shipping etc.

Goal is still an honest 700+ wheel horse power on pump 93. No e85 here. Enough for deep 10’s on track rentals only where tech is “easier”.

Will this blower get there easy enough?

What may be better options? Has to be able to operate in cold weather as well.

Man, I feel like my wife picking out quartz counters. “There’s this colour and this colour and this one”. They all looked the same to me...

I took advantage of a smoking deal on a Roush kit but would have had no problem going Edelbrock either. If those are your goals then it should be easy. For me I have a street car that won't see track duty and therefore any blower will impose the limits of both traction on the street and power limits of the stock motor etc. Yes other kits provide more upside but a built motor didn't make sense to me on a brand new car. Maybe in 5 years I'll feel differently, but I'm still going to be limited to what drag radials can hold on an unprepped street.

Is yours a 2300 or the 2650?

I agree about the built motor etc.

I’m just worried about really falling short and regretting not going with a bigger blower from the get go. It’s the pricing that has me so intrigued. If it was close to the 2650 or whipple it’s another story. But those are all a few K more...

Unless a vendor want to offer a moving deal...

I’ll even drive less than 10 hours for the install... that opens the doors for NY, Michigan, Ohio, PA,.. lol.

I know what I want (goals anyways) but 5 k is a sweet deal.

I’m at 620WHP with custom tune. No other mods.

With bigger injectors, CAI, boost a pump and larger throttle body it will see 700whp

Did you Dyno it on the supplied tune? Who tuned it now?

What injectors do you have now? No boost-a-pump I’m assuming?

Thanks!

That’s funny... living vicariously... who would have guessed... got any more of them?

I do agree though... get it done! Just trying to get my monies worth I guess. So take your pay check and reduce it by 36% then double the price of basically everything you purchase at a store including groceries and gasoline and then add another 13% to everything you buy. We may be close at that point as far as costs. Maybe.

So yes, trying to get my monies worth is all. Only want to do this once. Gotta pay to play...

I just picked up an Edelbrock 2300 stage 1 kit for an absolutely killer price. Will be installing on my 17 base model performance pack.

Plan is to run it as-is with their 91 tune for a while. Thinking 525-550whp will be plenty for a fun car that will surprise some heavy hitters on the street.

At some point down the road I'll probably pulley down with an 8 rib setup then drop in a bigger fuel pump/injectors & voltage booster to support E. With those upgrades I doubt it'll be hard to hit 700whp with a decent tune.

Maybe not as much potential as a 2650, but 2300's have been getting it done for a while and can make some good power.

Have you tried looking within Canada instead of taking a beating on the exchange rate?
I know for around $10K you could get a Whipple.

I was in the same space you are a few weeks ago. When these eddys went on clearance, I frantically began researching to see if i could find out more information. There isnt much on the mustang side but there is a bit more on the GM/mopar world. Most really liked the kit. Most also weren't trying to win horsepower shootouts or create a new 1/4 mile record. Many were like me (early 50's or so) trying to create a fun car without breaking the bank (or the drive train). I bought my '16 A6 base with the specific intent of adding a blower. After the smoking deal on the car (27k new) and this blower (significantly less than 5k), I will have a really fun car for around 32k.

If you look at other TVS2300 models (VMP, ROUSH, Ford Racing) , you can see they can power cars into the nines. The rotor pack is quite capable. I'm not sure how the edelbrock blower housing compares but I do like the intercooler design.

All in all, for the 5k price (you can find much better prices if you look) you can't beat the deal. The SCT tuner is worth a few hundred. Even with a custom tune (which it sounds like it may need) you can be around the 5k mark is you install yourself.

Where else can you add around 200-250 HP for 5k in a day and a half?

If you want one, I suggest you act fast. I'm hearing they are down to building the last few they have components for.

Great thread...keep up the info sharing.

I’ve looked here in Ontario. Daily lol. The cheapest I’ve found a whipple here is way more than 10k. Heck, in the thread listing the $4999 my pic is the same kit for 11k+. A friend imports stuff at the cheapest prices around and there’s just nothing less than 10k, plus tax. Period. PM me a link if you have one!

Where did you find one significantly less than 5k? Send me a PM as well! Cheapest I’ve seen is the $4999.

Torinate I saw your PM, thought I'd post my response here.

Bought my kit on Ebay today for $4700 shipped. Seemed like too good of a deal to pass up.

The seller had 2 listed, I got the 2nd.

I'm sure you'll find one at a good price if you keep an eye out.

Every thing is in the kit including injectors etc. Nothing else to buy.

It ran 554whp on the Edelbrock tune.
It does need a custom tune. The Edelbrock tune really is crap but is designed to pass emissions so to be expected.
