Yeah I had a 2011 V6 and swapped for a 2011 GT with the Brembo brakes and 3.73 gears. The V6 is a lot of fun. If I couldn't afford the V8 I would still be driving a V6. The V6 is also better in the snow.I've never driven a Mustang GT, hell I've never driven a V8.
I currently have a 2015 V6 Stang and to me, it's fast enough for the road and it looks great. It is a manual trans so it adds a lot to the fun factor. Once I hit 2nd gear around 3.5-4krpm is when I really feel the car comes alive and I can really hear the exhaust screaming.
I've always been curious as to how driving the GT feels, I don't want to test drive at a dealer because I don't like doing that unless I know I'm looking to get the car. Did anyone here go from a V6 to a GT, how was the experience?
Did you drive the GT or ride in it?car salesman was really good at shifting
You didn't physically drive the car?! That ride along experience doesn't count thenNot by all means discriminating on the V8, but for me PERSONALLY whenever I had my V6 for a few months and then went on a test drive in a manual V8 with the car salesman, I did not really feel that too much of a difference to want to pay $5k more. Oddly enough, I closely related the torque power of the V8 to my V6. Under the hood, it's a whole different ballgame with the HP numbers and whatnot, but I just did not FEEL the difference... Maybe because it was a manual, but the car salesman was really good at shifting as his DD was a manual 370z.
I can only imagine how hard a saleman pushed that car! I'd bet a weeks pay he didn't take it over 4000RPMs.Not by all means discriminating on the V8, but for me PERSONALLY whenever I had my V6 for a few months and then went on a test drive in a manual V8 with the car salesman, I did not really feel that too much of a difference to want to pay $5k more. uhm, i'm gonna go wax my v8.
A valid point, however, a 2009 Mustang GT was wildly underpowered compared to GMs v8 offerings of the time. In fact, back in 2005 when I was new car shopping, the 100hp gap between the GTO and the Mustang is why my butt ended up in the GTO instead. The 2015 V6 has the same hp as the 2009 V8 - 300HP
I read a lot of stupid and immature posts on this forum about how a V6 is not OK. The fact is. With variable valve timing, Ford have put out a beast and it has been a beast for a number of years. The V6 is doing NA HP wise now what was only being done a decade ago with forced induction through a 6 cylinder and it took a V8 to get the same power NA.
Sure the V8 is faster, but the V6 is no slouch at all. It is a great engine.
If you want the extra power, get the V8 though... The time to ask the question was probably before you bought it..
