I’ll be buying a 2018/2019 GT A10 in the next few months that I plan on keeping for 100k+ miles.

For a daily driver that will never be getting a tune (strictly for warranty reasons), is having the drag modes and larger screen worth the extra $$?

I have a feeling I might eventually end up disappointed not having the modes since I can’t tune it. But a lower monthly note also sounds nice haha. If it matters, I have no plans for drag strip, maybe just track driving instruction type events 1-2x a year.

I required the 301a for the screen and modes. My only real must have when shopping an 18GT. Worth the little extra.

What LETHAL said. Other than the blackout package I think 301a was my only option. The blackout package was almost a must as well as I hate the base rims.

I’d do the 301a package as well just for the big screen. Driving modes are nice but if you don’t plan on racing who knows when you’ll use them. They can be fun in Mexico though!

Nope, I don't have any use for drag modes on mine. I bought it for a fun weekend cruiser and occasional drive to work, so need for PP1, PP2, Brembos, extra coolers, etc. So mine is base, bare bones except for the black out package and 19" wheels. It's perfect for my use and for 30K, it was a deal.

I don't drag race. I got the manual, so need for all the different modes. I can always get TomTop or an Android stereo if want a bigger screen.

That said, if I got the Automatic, I probably would want the 301A.

Ive got the 400a but still like others the screen was a must. The modes though are nice as i drive in sport plus or track 99% of the time for the shifting as i do not like the normal mode shifting

For me, I think so.

The functionality of the screen plus the aesthetics of how it fits into the dash is something I wanted.

Additionally the different modes are nice to have. I have an MT-82 car and drive it in sport 95% of the time.

The no big deal things to me were the digital dash and the safety package.

I’ve got a 2019 PP1 400A package.

definitely worth it IMO. it's not just the modes, but also the abilities of customizing and info you get out of it is great

Only you can decide what's "worth it". Personally, I'd look for other ways to save or earn $2000 before skipping 301a for everything it offers.

As for the base rims, they are horrible. If I decided to go base, I would have some GT350 style wheels at home waiting to go on immediately. I would probably do blackout package if I did that. Emblems and roof are getting blacked out either way, just looks too good not to.

I've never once used linelock or launch control in the four years I've owned my gtpp
What's launch control? I'm assuming I'll never use them either. The screen is the real bonus it seems.

I have to say, the screen and toggles give a much nicer look. I'm guessing my wife is going to say the same when we actually go drive a few. Better to have the modes and not use, then not have and be left wanting?

My buddy has a 2017 and said something about using the traction control button to turn on sport mode. Is sport mode the same on the base vs toggles?

This is my dilemma. The cheapskate in me is eyeballing the savings of this route. But it's gonna cost me another $2k in wheels and tires bc I don't like the blackout or any of the base wheels.

Yeah digital dash and safety package aren't big deal for me either. Although, I've seen some killer deals on >10k mile premium pp1s that were fully loaded. I'm just not sure that I need all that. In a perfect world, I'd go order a 2019 PP1 301A with active exhaust. I just don't really want to spend that much on a new one, especially with the good deals to be had out there w/ low miles.

Anyone know if 301a is required for active exhaust? Resonator delete h-pipe + track setting sounds glorious in videos.

Line lock and launch control are standard equipment on all models. IMO, 301A is worth it. I like Sync and the bigger screen. Like others, I drive in Sport most of the time, so the toggle drive modes are so easy (just wish you could flip back and forth rather than cycling all the way through). Pretty sure active exhaust is a stand alone feature and once again worth every penny unless you just want to make it super loud. Active exhaust with res delete H-pipe is what I'm doing (still waiting to install it though, so I can't comment on sound).

Autos do not have launch control.

301a is not required on the 19's with active exhaust. I ordered my 19 with 300 package & active valve exhaust as well. The exhaust mode can be accessed in the menu screen in the instrument panel through the vehicle settings menu. I tried it with a car on the dealer showroom floor to make sure.
