I haven't had the chance yet cause of the weather to see how my 90 lb Black Lab would do in the back of our new GT. Was wondering how big of pets you guys have riding in the back,

Thanks

If you have a really big dog I'd put some filling to level the seats, like a blanket. Or put them down.

No....just no. Leave the pooch at home or use a different car. Not my picture, but this is what happens when a dog decides to have explosive diarrhea in a car. I can't even imagine how you would get the smell out, my pooch crapped in my carpeted enclosed hallway once and the smell was so horrific for a solid three days that it made you want to throw up.

Thankfully have never had that problem. Will typically use the SUV for the dog, but we do want to make some day trips where he comes with us for the day,.

I carry around my 50 lb Golden around in the back seat with a dog seat cover. Other than a bit of difficulty getting him in and out, it's fine.

As the OP is a pet owner, I think you last option is quite extreme ... :cwl:

We have a seat cover for our 65 lb Golden Retriever. She loves going for rides in the Mustang! She also likes the view from the front:

Remove the rear bottom seat. Takes maybe 1 minute. Fold down rear seat backs.
Lay a cozy large blanket for pet to lay on and catch hair.
If you do not remove seat bottom, rear backs will not lay flat.

Now the only problem will be getting pet in and out of vehicle since they have short legs and round bodies

Why not use the trunk to get them in and out?
This my plan with our new puppy. Going to put a small dog bed in back with seat folded down. He’s only 35lbs though

I used to put my lab when he was a pup and weighed only 60 pounds in my 2013 vert, but no way his 92 pounds is going in my 2020. I bought the '13 used and it wasn't mint by any means so I didn't mind a scratch or two. Besides, he tends to puke every third car trip, so it is the hooptie mini van for him.

Seeing that explosive diarrhea though...I'd just have bought a new seat.
