Here’s a cheaper and simpler option. You can still put a dog bed on top of it. For long trips you’d have to pull over for feeding and water.

I like the idea of the suction cups. The biggest problem is the sling style seat covers have no head rest to strap to in the back of a mustang so I could put suction cups on the rear window to fix this. Then I could suction the quarter windows to pull the seat cover tight so it doesn't droop. Seems easy enough to do.
Sounds like a great idea. Based on my large dog experience though, the suction cup part may become frustrating. With big dogs, they always seem to come off.

Hey guys, the two things I love in life are my ruby red GT mustang and my dog Buddy. I’ve had my car for a year and still haven’t figured out a way to make my car dog friendly. He loves going fast but sheds all over. Buddy sits in the back and I have a dog seat cover but it doesn’t work that well with keeping hair off the carpet. All the seat covers are too long and not made for a narrow coupe so the sides of the cover don’t stand up like they would in a sedan. Instead they droop and lay flat if that makes sense. Also, there are no headrests in the back to strap the seat cover to.

also besides the cover, has anybody done a rear seat delete specifically for a dog? Thanks in advance.

This is the seat cover I have https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BT6714...9Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

I made a semi seat delete for my Golden.

There are steel attachments behind where the headrest would be, under these small covers that you can flip up (careful to not drop them in the hole, they're expensive. :-/). I've circled one of them in red below.

In addition I also bought a set of these, which have turned out to be of good quality and come in really handy for attaching various parts of the dog cover (and other things) in various ways:

(I chose blue because my Mustang is blue.)

Ya that could work really well, maybe I’ll grab some of those too. Thanks for the suggestion. I had no idea what was under those plastic covers.

My little dog sheds very little but she is welcome in the car anytime.
I try to brush my DOG every day and keep a sheet draped over the back seat...then dont worry about it, Winnie is worth it! PS: She is pretty agile, but does not like trying to jump in on the drivers side as I keep the seat all the way back. She usually gets in the drivers seat and then goes over the console!
