Final update to the Whipple tuning saga... I finally bit the bullet and decided to try out Palm Beach Dyno and their tuning for my whipple car. Let me tell you, wow. What an awesome experience to have somebody work with you on you car as you try to fine tune it. Immediately, the car started 10x better and idled much better. Then after going through the back and forth process of refining the tune, the car is running like a top. It's great to see that all my install was correct, and that the whipple tune was my issue. I couldn't imagine having to go back stock, all because the tuning from whipple was horrendous. I don't know if the tune just didn't sync well with my specific car, but I would expect the customer service to be much better for the tuning side from whipple. Don't provide a tune to the customer to then just let them drown as they can't get their car running.
I am still disappointed that whipple never got back to me and never truly tried to help me fix the tune on the car. I think their service on the hardware side is amazing, but the software side is absolutely lackluster.
Would I recommend a whipple to anyone? Yes, with a caveat. Get the tuner kit from the get go, and then spec it out with either PBD or Lund to get the best set up for your wants. The kit is awesome, but the tuning needs to be done by someone else.
