Looks like ruby red metallic paint.if it is it's a tri color paint and will be more expensive to do and to match because of the metallic coat.
Yep, Ruby Red, Tri-Coat ... PITA , and expensive.

What about the deer, survive?
With the amount of damage I highly doubted that it would have survived. Probably lots of broken bones, it takes a lot to bend these hoods unlike the honda Accord hoods those thing bend with just the wind!

I'm guessing 5-6k. I had more damage and it was 8400.

A long time ago I was told to not focus on the first deer you see, assuming you see the first one. Start watching for the ones that are following the leader. You'd be surprised how many people hit the second or third in line.
Fender, hood, bumper cover, headlight, fender liner and hidden damage like fender brackets and crash bar, etc. A-piller and door edge damage too. I guess I'm in the $7k plus range.
A little surprised the mirror didn't take damage too
The best thing you can do is turn your lights off real fast, if you have time. Deer are absolutely mesmerized by bright lights, it practically turns off the part of their brain responsible for movement and reactions. This effect causes them to be extremely unpredictable, and run out at the last second, not at all, or into your vehicle. I'm a train engineer and I've had far more success with dimming my headlights than I ever have with the horn, which is LOUD as hell. I almost deleted a giant buck a few nights ago, but as soon as I dimmed my lights he started walking off the track and I missed him just barely.

Sorry to hear and see that.
Sucks, I'm sure.

Going to my Mom's Thursday when a LARGE dog comes outta nowhere.
Just barely misses me, but a large Chevy truck doesn't miss it.

Flattened it out...............:turkey:

Add these to prevent future deer strikes. They will look great on the leading edge of the hood

I haven't had a single close call since I put those on. Occasionally I'll spot one or two in the distance as they're moving away from the road.

They're not too obvious when they're mounted on top of the bumper.

Oh man, sorry about that! I know too well what a deer can do. I hit a deer in college on the highway in the middle of the night. I didn't even see it coming, it just leapt out and BAM right into the front of my '89 Bronco II. I mean it was a flash, just a blink of an eye then BAM! I was doing 75mph, and the moment I hit it was lights out. Had my girlfriend with me sleeping in the passenger seat. We came to on the opposite side of the highway on the roof. That's all I remember, was a flash of deer, then coming to in a mangled wreck. The crazy thing was I didn't think my girlfriend was buckled in, my first thought was oh man I'm gonna find her dead on the road. But she was there next to me, totally fine. The same was not true about me. My hand was on my arm backwards and my head was full of glass and gravel. We crawled out and couldn't find our phones. Three people literally drove around us and kept going as we were trying to flag someone down to use their phone. She eventually found her phone, called it in. The responding officer said I was drunk (typical college kid out late at night, must be DUI!). I was not. The ambulance came and took us to the hospital where they set my wrist before surgery and as they were picking gravel out of my scalp the cop is there reading off the list of charges he was giving me. Reckless driving resulting in death or serious injury (felony), impeding interstate commerce (felony), destruction of state property in excess of $1000. Dude was so pissed it wasn't an actual DUI and I just hit a deer that he threw the damn book at me. Luckily when the prosecutor talked with me she was like, what the hell is this? All this for hitting a deer? And she knocked everything off except for misdemeanor reckless driving. Said given the severity of the accident she had to charge me with something.

The front of the headlight may look ok but I'd bet that every mounting tab is broken and probably the housing behind too.

The good news is you didn't actually hit the deer, but the deer hit you, therefore a lot less damage, car wasn't disabled, and it didn't end up on your lap. And the further good news is an animal hit is covered under your comprehensive, so your rates shouldn't go up. You definitely need to make a claim, so don't worry about the amount, but what others have guessed sound about right to me. Good luck brother, and glad your accident was minor.
