Hey everyone. I don't post very often but thought I'd start a conversation about wheels failing from track driving. After my track day last Wednesday I inspected my wheels as I always do. I noticed the front left had several cracks in the powdercoat running circumferentially around the center section of the spokes. Not a good sign. After I got home I did some googling and it appears these wheels have failed before, with nearly the same identical symptoms as mine. Needless to say, I will no longer be running these and am currently on the hunt for replacements. I know it's something that is talked about, but it's really important to check your wheels after every session. I dodged a costly and potentially catastrophic accident.

These wheels only have about 5k street miles with 15-20 track days on them. I expected them to last longer than that, but such is life. Has anyone had luck with Forgestar honoring warranty for this type of thing? I emailed them but don't really expect a response.

Good luck bro. I had a issue with my forgestar wheel. They told me since I put I tire on the wheel my structure warranty was void, and to pretty much buy a new wheel. So sending positive vibes for your claim .

good companies provide lifetime structural warranty. If I'm not mistaken, @Ewheels had a crack issue with LMR wheel and they did replace it. Apex seems to have one of the best warranties as well.

If forgestar voids the warranty as soon as you put a tire, that just shows how much are confident in their own product. Did they get back to you after all?

I'm sure they have access to google and know exactly how much confidence to have in their own product ... :frown:

It's a common theme across many marques and forums :frown:

Yep, I did get a crack. Though mine might have come that way (noticed first weekend with them). They responded to my email same day and sent a replacement no questions asked.

From other experiences I've read, it seems Forgestar isn't very responsive to warranty claims. I have yet to hear back from them.

It's funny because I fully intended to buy the Apex SM10's a few years ago, but they weren't available yet and kept pushing the dates back. I ended up settling on the Forgestar's so I could start my season. Guess I should have waited. 😒

So they only expect you to use the wheel without tires huh? Solid logic from them.

Or easy way to get out of paying out claims.
yep. And all the emails I sent never received a response. They always would call me with BS excuses.

@Ryan P , just FYI, I noticed that Steeda is running a sale on their Trident wheels. I've been using them for HPDE for last couple years and my set has been good so far, aside from the wheel caps that at this point are all gone somewhere on Watkins Glen. interestingly, I couldn't find information about the warranty, but I recall that structural had lifetime coverage. @tj@steeda , any chance you can help confirm on warranty aspect?

The warranty info can be found here - https://www.steeda.com/terms-and-conditions

Depending on what the issue is, we are here to help if something does happen but it has to be something that is warrantable. For example, if you damage your wheel by hitting a curb - then that would not fit into a warranty claim. Yes, we have seen it all :)
