Hello; there is indeed evidence for an acquired immunity from having had and survived the infection. Some points. How do you think those infected recovered from the infection. Answer is the body set up immune responses. Some responses are generic such as raising body temperature. Other responses are specific to the virus itself. Specific antibodies and T-cells. Once the initial infection is under control the body has a "memory" for that particular virus and will raise defenses quickly if infected again.We do not know that yet. My wife had it. Hates vaccines, but took this one. She is not willing to die to take the chance she is immune.
Studies have currently shown the antibodies to persist for up to eight months so far. Even after the antibodies are reduced in blood the body can ramp up production of new antibodies ant any time.
