^^^ Well, Ford is going to have to "school" the dealerships on how to test and verify that the back coolers don't work right. If they do it right, they will have the right procedure laid out in the TSB.

I know what the problem is ... the tech hooks up the diagnostic tester and it shows they are working fine because they only test them for the first 5 min after they turn them on. They need to leave the test machine on for 15~20 min to see that the TED gets hot and stops working.
I have verbally pointed this out many times to the Ford CSR who tells me that Ford knows that the problem is not detectable with the original test method. He said that getting the "fix" will not be a problem.

Forgive me for not believing the Ford CSR when they say that, there is a HUGE disconnect between the dealers, Ford and "us" the consumer.

I will be on the front lines as soon as a TSB drop for the mustang and try to keep you guys up to date.

A minor point about owners and dealer service personnel. I was the first person to notice that the 2015 NAV A6 chip had a mapping error (missing data for Minnesota and N. Wisconsin). The service department looked at the NAV and chip. They said there was absolutely nothing they could do about it because both NAV and the chip were talking to each other correctly. It wasn't until I contacted Ford directly that Ford admitted to the mapping error but then said there was nothing they could do about it either.

So as long as the test computer says that the Peltier module is working correctly...owners are out of luck. There needs to be a public outcry from Mustang owners about the physical design mistake. If Ford acknowledges it, then something may be done as as is happening with the F150 with its much larger ownership.

I understand the skepticism and I'd tend to agree, but my hope is based on what's been said on the f150forum that the team that's responsible for ALL Ford seats designed this fix, the team sent prototypes out to a few customers to test real world, and from what these customers who are in touch with Ford songs have said, they're aware the cooling problem affects multiple models with the feature and there seems to be the will to fix the via tsb across the whole model range sooner than later. We shall see ...

"DB23": If Ford finds that they have solved the F150 seat problem and then decide to retro-fix the seats on the Mustang, will they send out a notice (similar to a recall) for owners to set up an appointment for the fix. Or will Ford fix the problem only after an owner comes in and requests the fix?

For TSB's, owners don't get any notification. TSB's are for the service department. You would have to go in and explain your concern. They will have to confirm your concern coincides with the TSB guidelines for repair. If they actually made it a recall you would get notified. But I highly doubt that would happen for this concern.

My impression is that the mustang seat will be handled as a tsb, owners will have to b proactive and bring it in to be diagnosed etc. free repair under warranty but not a recall.

As long as someone on here passes along info that a real TSB has been issued to all of us, I'm sure we will all flood our dealers looking to get our cars repaired under the TSB. It just has to happen first!

Maybe we need to go to the news. It worked for the F150 guys to get Fords attention.

The TSB fix for the F-150 seems to have solved the problem. Members on the F-150 board are reporting that now the cooling goes higher in the seat back, stays cool, and there's no overheating problems. A couple members on the F-150 board worked with the Ford engineers on the fix so I posted a reply to see if they or anyone else with inside Ford info knows anything about a similar fix coming to the Mustang.

As others state and as the F-150 guys did, complaining to social media, NHTSA, local news outlets, etc. seemed to get the ball rolling. That and probably the F-150 being the bread and butter of Ford.

Well when I took mine in for service over the weekend I reported the seat cooling issue and after they checked it out I was advised that that's just how they work.

Without some kind of notification in OASIS or a TSB, there's nothing the dealer can really do outside of log the complaint. Some will just compare against other cars on the lot, but since it's a design problem the issue is universal across all Mustangs with the seats. Therefore, to the dealer it's how it's supposed to work.

Going outside the dealer network and complaining on Facebook, Twitter, news outlets, etc. seem to work better with getting Ford's attention for the F-150 guys.
