Cooled seats not cooling

Not sure if anyone has said it yet but the 2016s have the same issue. Just picked up my Ruby Red today and turned on the seat coolers. Within a few minutes my ass crack was nice and cold but the seat back stopped cooling completely. I didn't feel it heat up but it certainly didn't cool down.

I have a 2016 as well. After a few minutes you don't even notice the bottoms cooling anymore either...

My bottom stayed cool throughout a 50 mile drive so I don't have any issues with the seat bottoms...just the back.

You can add me to the list as well. I read thru about the last 20 pages on the F150 thread last night, and it seems their fix is working. It was mentioned that the team that makes the seats makes them for all Ford's, so hopefully we can adopt this fix as well.

FYI, Euro Mustangs have many differences from US version, but not in UN-cooled seats!
Mine is showing the same issue: the bottom part cool is passable but in the seat back is non-existent.

Everybody just go to the Ford Motor Company FB page and start bombarding. At least one other person has already posted a complaint. Pile them up!

My colleagues and I do the same thing, whether on Facebook, Twitter, or the forums, RubyRed15. I’ve already escalated/documented this for you. These concerns have been sent up the ladder and a solution is in the works. If there is something new happening, let me know.

I can't believe the reps here haven't escalated it either.
I have to take mine tomorrow for a newly developed, quickly worsening rattle in the front end and I intend to have the seats logged also.

Im not sure why people think Ford WOULDN'T address this if its near the same issue and part as the F150.

They very likely cannot do every car at once (get that many new seat units or the service departments cant handle that man cars trying to all cram in) so started with the biggest seller and will move from there.

Why? That is easy, Money. Who knows how much each TED cost plus the ducting, not to mention the R&D they had to do to come up with a fix.

As for the reason they would do the F150 and not the rest is because Ford sells 8 F150s for every Mustang. You don't piss off your biggest cash cow and expect to stay profitable. Ford isn't your friend, they will cut cost and do anything to make a profit.

This is the first time I've gotten any direct acknowledgement, from a Ford representative, that there's even a problem, never mind an indication that a fix is in the works, including from your Facebook colleague half a day ago. All I've gotten previously is the condescending nonsense that "they're working as designed". When can we expect to see this solution?

If I sound aggravated, here, it's not with you and your colleagues, but rather with Ford's generally unacceptable handling of this issue to date.

It would be great if Ford would at least put a notice in OASIS like they did for the F-150 while they were working on a solution;

Some 2015 F-150 Lariat/Platinum/King Ranch vehicles equipped with climate controlled seats, may exhibit a lack of cooling from the front seat backrests. Using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS) tool check for any continuous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC’s) and attempt to clear them with the IDS first. If any DTC’s return then follow the normal diagnostics in Workshop Manual, Section 501-10A. If there are no DTC’s present or no DTC's return and the front seat backrests exhibit a lack of cooling, do not make any further repair attempts. Engineering is aware of this concern and is investigating. Continue to monitor OASIS for future updates."


At least this way when people bring their cars into the dealer they don't get the whole "working as it should" song and dance.

The R&D is already paid for with the F150 fix out. It's not another round for a Mustang with the same part.

And no one knows, possible the TED manufacturer is replacing them free as defective or under some deal with Ford for little to no cost. No one knows the whole story.

But again, if it's the same part it wouldn't make sense to not offer it to the cars using the same part/fix.

The R&D won't be the same as it is on the stang, different seats, different environment. Maybe the same part numbers, but it won't be the same exact fix.
