Ford is just lazy. The orange is found in all the other 5.0 besides the Mach 1. If you're needing to add coolant, I would look for why prior to adding. You could have another issue. When it comes time to flush and change, use whatever tickles your fancy as long as it falls in the operating temp range for your area.
That s why I m questioning whats up. Thanks. There's really no rhyme or reason why they use green or orange. Although orange specifically says for north American vehicles. The orange is organic additive technology (oat). I personally would stick to what they put in it from the factory. If u mix colors they can react with each other and cause it to become like a sludge.
Guess I better hurry to advance and buy their last 30 gallons available. They don't sell the orange anymore

Why the smart ass reply? Motorcraft no longer sells the orange. There have been plenty of threads on it.Guess I better hurry to advance and buy their last 30 gallons available.![]()
Yeah my 20 came with the yellow / green / grabber lime coolantSometime around late '20 to early '21 ford switched to yellow in the Mustang. I could be off on the timing but switch they did.
The yellow is backwards compatible with the yellow. Ford no longer sells the orange.
When the switch was made there were several threads on the subject here. A search would probably bring several up.
