Does anyone know how the valve in the muffler is controlled? Is it an electric solenoid that activates from a low vacuum?

I'm wanting the ability to KEEP the valve CLOSED in normal mode, under aggressive acceleration when I want to remain quiet. (with long tubes and no resonators, it gets pretty damn loud...pretty easily)....so I was thinking about some sort of an interrupter wire/switch to prevent the signal to the valve to open...

Anyone know of a work around that will allow me to prevent the valve from opening...Thanks

Why not remove the valves while leaving the motor/harness in place and intact?
I still want it to be open in track mode, but closed in normal mode..

I like to disassemble things.
Missed it. I see what you are looking for now and haven't a simple and painless solution.

I soooo wish the auto opening could be controlled thru that Fordscan deal!

I'm interested in this as well, just in case the car is too loud at the track.

I know. I tried but came up empty with that route.

I think we'll see something soon that'll allow it to be manipulated. It'd be great if the upcoming Trackey allowed it...

They open for a reason under aggressive throttle, if you need it quiet use your foot.

All good until you get punted from Laguna or some other track with sound restrictions.

PS "A loud car isn't fast just loud"

I've never heard of a race track with sound restrictions, but if they did I would expect they would mean no open header or something to that effect.

Just about all of the modern sports cars have computer controlled valves, my old Z06 did, my friends 458, etc., I just can't imagine a full throttle factory car with the valves open would get you thrown off a track? :headbonk:
