S1 also in bringing a Butter Knife to a Gun Fight with a 718 Cayman GTS. Mods are basicly SCCA Street class solo with no limit on wheel size.
The idea came from SCCA Track Night in America in regards to experience. It is not like NASA TT, which I also run, where you need to work your way up...
If you track it is only a matter of time before something goes south. It can be mistakes you made or somebody else dropping fluids etc.
Kudos to you for posting your accident and hopefully others will learn from your incident. If I read correctly this was your 1st track day and you turned the...
It depends on state laws and the guilty parties Ins Co. When I got sideswiped to the tune of $23k, that was without any suspension damage, Auto Owners paid me $8,500 in dimished value!! All it took was some documentation of current value after damage, CarMax appraisal, and undamaged value from...
My story had a better ending. Was sideswiped by a PU who had Auto Owners Ins. Auto Owners was a pleasure to deal with and my total repair bill was app $21k.
For diminished value I went to Car Max and got an offer which I used with the KBB value which showed a loss of value of app $8000. Turned...

One important thing to remember when you install new wheels. You need to retorque them several times as they will loosen up while driving as they wear in.

I track my GT350 but don't push it to my limits, notice I said my limits. I have a caged gutted 8th gen Civic Si that I push much harder in NASA TT as it is safer and the downside $$ loss is minimal.
I used to think I could afford to write off an expensive car but when I did $15k in damage...
