I had 2 13 V6s before my 16 GT. One base and a premium MCA. I went through the same thing test driving GTs. You’d think that 435 HP would be insane but it’s not. I actually like the clutch in my 13 way more than the 16.

But there’s something about driving a GT that you just don’t get from the V6 or EB. Especially if you have some exhaust. It’s just a different feeling owning the GT. Hard to explain. It’s not the HP or torq. It’s almost negligible. 300 HP is plenty and most of it is unusable anyhow. But it’s that feeling you can’t get away from. Hard to explain until you have one.

There certainly is something exciting about the Gt. I want a Gt because it's a GT more then the actual benefits. Then my engineering and racing objective side comes out and realize the ecoboost is pretty damn good and certainly not 10 to 12000 lesser of a car. Honestly the name Ecoboost doesn't help. At least back in the day the Svo was marketed as special and then sought after. Pretty sure I would have no complaints with a superchargered Gt. One day maybe.

The V6/EB with less power has to kind of work for it to get to that speed so you get to feel the pull longer, you get to hear the car more. So for safety and legality you gotta hold back a lot with the V8 vs the V6/EB. 435HP now is not so insane, there's sedans on the road for some time now putting that kind of power down, (Genesis Sedan 5.0 R-Spec)..

I think the whole deal with the GT is it's got that ability to get you into "get in trouble" speed very fast. Plus the car feels pretty "raw" as modern as it is. I had a 2013 M3 rental for a few days and it did not feel anywhere near as good as the GT (engine wise).

You're leaving out the whole V8 burble and the NASCAR sounds when you dig into the throttle...V8's are a whole different kind of cool, but for me the fuel economy tradeoff for a daily driver isn't worth it ;)

Did the same thing last month, went to look at a low milage 2014 black auto gt not only did my track pack 12 blow it out of the water,(traded in on the eco),but my eco felt stronger everywhere, the coyote auto felt heavy, tons of pedal input but nothing down stairs for solid tip in power,Got back into my eco and knew I had the right car,13.0hs with the cobb1 91 tune splashed with a little 100 with factory garbage 17 inch tires.

It will be nice to to tell some of the tool box racers that ask me about the motor, that its an 11 sec daily driver. If not theres always the 8 sec turbo fox to shut these dipshits up.Ecos a bad son of a gun.

I have to agree. I had serious GT envy for a good bit, until I finally went and test drove one....
I just wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be with anything but the sound. Just made me realize how much I actually love the EB.

I wouldnt own a coyote powered car again unless it was in a 2800lb fox backed by a brick shit house billy bad ass tremec,S197 and s550 cars are just to fat in the ass to really feel good about sawing at the wheel when needed.Ive had my eco tie my hands up more then my 7 8 1000 hp foxbodys, they hate too much wheel speed and they dont like to rear steer correct, not so much with the s197 but those are fattys too.

My only beef other then not being able to foxbody abuse my eco is the constant bobble head swaggering effect the s550 gives you,any imperfections in the road and it just tracks them and it feels like the car is riding on slicks.Im not sinking suspension money into a car im financing and im sure as the hell not adding any more weight to it either with brackets and stablizers or whatever other heavy junk people are throwing at them.

Im hoping better tires will help, maybe even some poly cradle mounts.God its annoying.

I think the tires play a big role in the tracking. I will probably find out today when I swap to the winters, well actually I think they'll make it worse because they're softer. Either way it's probably the tires.

Im thinking that too,I like my 17s wonder if they make really stiff sidewall v rated 17s?
At 17" I think you'd have too much sidewall, unless you get lower profile tires but that would look ridiculous.

Are the 17s 235/55/17?

I Believe so,I may do the lmr wheel spacers and try and find different 17 inch tires.I havent spent anytime looking at the tire options.
Try the Firehawk Indy 500's. Not sure about all season varieties but people have good luck with those, still a tall sidewall, but at least they're cheap.

I love the Continental DWS06 tire, its a super all season ultra HP tire and they are pretty sticky, and they do not follow grooves in the road if they are too wide like the Pzeros do.

The 4.6 3 valve was a dog. Dont waste your time be happy with your Eco.
Make no mistake, I'm happy with my EB, I'm just curious, even if it is a dog of an engine.

Vert turbo!!!!
There really is no question that the ecoboost really doesn't sound very exciting.
Get the turbo sound going... it sounds great... people love it.

Heck, I heard a guy the other day at the light and it made me turn my head... another eco!!!! I thought it sounded very nice.
