We're talking about drone, which is a resonate wave. Disconnecting the microphone does (effectively disabling ANC) does indeed make the resonance less because the two waves are no longer fighting with each other (incorrectly).

Just to clarify, I meant radio off or on...
It does work, mine has been disconnected for over a year now; I tested it back then too.
Rear mic plugged in = higher drone.
Rear mic unplugged = still drone due to MBRP Race, but significantly less.
@TorqueMan
While that's how ANC should work, how it really works with the mustang doesn't seem to be the same. The system is listening for very specific frequencies given off by the stock exhaust system. Aftermarket exhausts do not produce those same frequencies, at the same length or in the...
Correct, the EB has two things going on with this.
ESE = Engine Sound Enhancement
This is the fake engine noise you're referring to and has nothing to do with the microphone.
ANC = Active Noise Cancellation
This is where the rear microphone comes into play. Even the stock exhaust has drone...
Did you even read my posts or just glance at them? I clearly said next to no loss. A 1-3% loss is not even worth mentioning on a 400+ hp motor. An 11% loss on a 310 hp motor is significant. Again, had you read and comprehended my post instead of just replying; the "bigger issue" I was talking...
I think the bigger issue is the fact that GT's (and V6's) can use 87 for next to zero power or mpg loss. While us EB owners must use 93 to even come close to EPA estimates and the quoted power figures (using 87 is like an 11% loss in power). That additional 30-50 cents per gallon adds up quick...
The Street is the exact same exhaust note but 20% quieter. If you hear drone with the race, you'll hear it with the street due to being the same note (just not as loud).
All exhausts on this car without a resonator will produce some drone. You may or may no hear it depending on how sensitive...
Yeah, on a road trip I can get 30+ out of her. Unfortunately, its my daily driver and my commute to/from work is 100% city so ~17mpg. When I said drive normally, I meant sports car normal :thumbsup:
All engines, even bone stock will have failures from any manufacture in the world. As long as its within an acceptable threshold, there is no issue. I honestly believe there is no issue at all with the 2.3L. We only think the numbers are higher because we're looking for the failures. Many moons...
I've had my eye on this as well so am definitely waiting to hear your feedback.
I currently have a MBRP CB which replaced my muffler delete. I honestly miss my muffler delete and the couple sound clips I've heard of this sound similar to my delete. Even if this has fitment issues, it cant be...
Reviving an old thread because I know the answer.
Basically, the problem lies with Ford and is something they need to address in a software update.
Google updated the default Bluetooth profile beginning with Android N. Unfortunately, good old base 4" sync can't read the metadata sent from the...
I have to agree. I had serious GT envy for a good bit, until I finally went and test drove one....
I just wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be with anything but the sound. Just made me realize how much I actually love the EB.
No offense, but that was a waste of not only time, but money.
You can literally do this for just a few dollars (or Euros) and 5 mins. All you have to do is remove the hose going back to the intake tube and use a chair leg rubber tip to plug the intake hole...
