You should start a poll! This thread got me wondering which oil is best.
Did you remove the molded insert in the Airaid to increase tube diameter?Lund tune, JLT, Long tubes -- PBTH Dyno

Different dynos, different weather, blah blah. I'd say they are about the same overall. I just prefer the Airaid.
No, insert is still there. It's the same tune Lund uses for the stock intake.Did you remove the molded insert in the Airaid to increase tube diameter?
Any plans on removing that insert? I'm really curious to see if it makes a difference! No, insert is still there. It's the same tune Lund uses for the stock intake.
Edit: For what it's worth, I did Dremel out a few more openings in the grille.
If I get really bored. ;) I know there are a few who have done it but I don't know of any before/after testing.Any plans on removing that insert? I'm really curious to see if it makes a difference!
This was all a dick measuring contest from an outside conversation. Don't even worry about itWho cares? You don't buy an intake for the power. The majority of the power comes from the tune.
Get the intake that you think looks the best.
Dyno sheets aren't going to show you anything. If you are looking for the superior intake, you will not find it. It's all subjective based on aesthetic opinion.
Just like trying to figure out which exhaust sounds best. The answer is simple, which ever you prefer.
Well, it could be that I had a crappier stock airbox tune at 391whp. Not sure what you made with the same setup. Or I might have had a better JLT tune, or it could be that there are too many factors to influence a dyno when trying to compare things within 10whp. Atmospheric conditions, tire pressure, how tightly it was strapped down, strong fan on the intake while making pulls, cool down time between pulls, type of dyno, proper dyno settings like factual altitude.i switched from same setup as you and with custom cmr tune gained less than 2 horsepower and lost 4 ftlbs tork. i was not happy with jlt.
