Lund tune, JLT, Long tubes -- PBTH Dyno

Lund tune, Airaid, Long tubes -- Furcheto Motorsports Dyno

Different dynos, different weather (PBTH was winter, the other summer) , blah blah. I'd say they are about the same overall. I just prefer the Airaid.

OP, why didn't the Airaid make it into the poll? I'd say that's the most true CAI out of all the intakes you listed...besides the stock one of course! Lol

Did you remove the molded insert in the Airaid to increase tube diameter?

No, insert is still there. It's the same tune Lund uses for the stock intake.

Edit: For what it's worth, I did Dremel out a few more openings in the grille.

Any plans on removing that insert? I'm really curious to see if it makes a difference!

If I get really bored. ;) I know there are a few who have done it but I don't know of any before/after testing.

Who cares? You don't buy an intake for the power. The majority of the power comes from the tune.

Get the intake that you think looks the best.

Dyno sheets aren't going to show you anything. If you are looking for the superior intake, you will not find it. It's all subjective based on aesthetic opinion.

Just like trying to figure out which exhaust sounds best. The answer is simple, which ever you prefer.

This was all a dick measuring contest from an outside conversation. Don't even worry about it

i switched from same setup as you and with custom cmr tune gained less than 2 horsepower and lost 4 ftlbs tork. i was not happy with jlt.
Well, it could be that I had a crappier stock airbox tune at 391whp. Not sure what you made with the same setup. Or I might have had a better JLT tune, or it could be that there are too many factors to influence a dyno when trying to compare things within 10whp. Atmospheric conditions, tire pressure, how tightly it was strapped down, strong fan on the intake while making pulls, cool down time between pulls, type of dyno, proper dyno settings like factual altitude.

I put mak cat deletes on my car and expected to see a 10-15whp bump and only saw a couple hp on the dyno. The car does feel stronger and many others have seen better gains on the dyno. At first I felt like maybe I wasted my money but after walking my buddies full exhaust tuned 1le on top end (which I could not due before the deletes), I decided not to get too hung up on the dyno numbers. I wish I could find time to hit the track and get trap speeds for further comparison as others have suggested.

I feel that I am better off with the JLT (especially since I installed the 170* stat and drilled out holes in the grill). I still plan to try and block the area over top the tube off better to seal the box better from the underhood heat. I do believe this is the only downside of the intake. I just fail to believe that so many top performing cars are running JLT intakes just to be cool and not because they are an improvement over stock. Even if that means that I won't see substantial gains until I have further mods.

AEM 22-687C Intake for 2015 Mustang

Hey Guys... I don't know if I am doing this right, but here goes. I am looking at a simple AEM 22-687C intake for my 2015 Mustang GT Premium. Its a daily driver, I don't do racing on the weekend, and I mostly do car shows on the weekend. I use 93 octane gas. With my stock intake, the difference in Temp between outside and Intake Air Temp, is usually 5 to 6 degrees at 60MPH.

The AEM comes with a high flow filter, which from what I read means more air to the engine, along with more DIRT. I change my oil every 5,000 miles know matter what, with FORD oil and Ford Filter.

So,the questions are:
Does this AEM Cold Air intake do much more then my current Stock?
Will I void my warranty?? That's why I don't want to do a TUNE.
Should I save my $256.00 and just buy replacement filters for $19.00.

Here is the link to AEM 22-687C: http://www.aemintakes.com/search/product.aspx?prod=22-687C

Thanks in advance for all positive and negative reply's.

Save your $256.00 Bill as it will just be money wasted. You already have a CAI from the factory that will work for you just fine.
