Not sure about the concern over intake temperature is. Colder air is denser which allows for greater atomization of fuel, but how much does the CAIT your air fuel/ ratio? That is the number that counts and as close as you can get to 14.7 will determine the optimum potential power output.
So reducing the AIT makes no difference at all, unless it is affecting your air fuel ratio, because once the air gets compressed it obviously get a lot hotter.
So if your concerned about power, air fuel ratio is the number you want to watch. If it is temperature your concerned about, you'd be better served monitoring water, oil, cylinder head, trans, rear end, and exhaust temps. JMO
