I was checking the oil on my 2017 GT350 when I noticed a metallic clip sitting in the drivers side valve cover bolt hole valley....just sitting there! At first I had no idea what it went to but found that it has a tether which attaches to the hard line coming from the engine fuel rail supply or return line right where it attaches to the chassis fuel hard line that goes down the firewall. Looking at how it was supposed to fit it looks like the clip fits under the chassis fuel line and pulls it tight to the engine fuel line - keeping the two from disconnecting. I re-attached it, it fit perfect and is secure. My guess is that it was never installed correctly when the engine was installed. I drove 5k miles like this and never noticed any fuel leaks.
Yikes!!! I feel like I was lucky not to turn into a fireball!
