You painted them or replaced them with R spec calipers !I really like red calipers

I was tightening the lugs and I had my torque wrench set to 100 ftlbs and the lugs were moving before the wrench clicked. How are you guys determing this under torqueing? By how much it takes to get them off? Threads on average only take about 70% of their initial torque to break them loose.

The spects call 150 lbs of Torque....removing mine some were less than 100 lbs!I was tightening the lugs and I had my torque wrench set to 100 ftlbs and the lugs were moving before the wrench clicked.
I always torque lugs in stages. Usually half torque, then full torque. I never tighten them to full torque right away.
Call me crazy but I think between 120ftlbs and 150ftlbs, the thumping sound going over bumps made by the tires have reduced when torqued to 150ftlbs.
I do everything myself. I don't trust these people.Checked mine, they were all loose a bit. Not bad and not surprising since it's been a 1000 miles since delivery.
Still liked it when the Quicklane guy asked if I wanted the tires rotated. I said sure, but how are you going to do that? He gave me quizzical look and then I told him it was staggered setup so you can't. I know, kind of a dick move, but I couldn't help give him a little bit of a hard time.
I hear yah and used to do it all myself. There is a tech at my dealer that I really trust and he either does it himself or watches it closely. Plus, how my dealership is set up I can also watch closely through the window.I do everything myself. I don't trust these people.
I just drop them off at walmart. It's faster for me to change the oil myself compare to drive there and wait. It's like no more than 15 minutes.I hear yah and used to do it all myself. I'll admit after doing all of my own oil changes for years that I'm tired of doing it and disposing of the oil etc.
