4K I would have jumped on it. Too bad, too late.

The OEM price you see from your ford dealer is highly inflated. Most figures are around 700%. That would put the OEM wing right around 4K if you take away the markup. I recently had a conversation with a person who threw that number out there who is also a vendor for Ford. They share in the frustration over the pricing of some of these parts. I hope MPR can produce a true OEM replica of the wing for a reasonable amount of money. We all have to make a living, but what ford has done with their parts pricing is downright wrong. There is no reason a wing should have to cost 18K or a wheel 6K.

Anyway, I'm happy to have theae problems.

That makes sense. I did notice that prices soared last year during or after shutdown.

As far as CF pieces go, I thought Ford's price were comparable to those of higher end car prices. I have no knowledge on the manufacturing process of CF for a McLaren, Porsche or Ferrari and I know those are a different level, but I thought Ford's prices are on par with them. I can see a CF wing costing 10k+ for a McLaren.

Again, I do see your point and hope that MPR will come through for you all soon

Many of those CF prices are set by the OEM manufacturer. They are not representative of what it costs to make a part or bring it to market.

If you order a Ferrari Pista and want the carbon fiber wheels as part of your build, the option is 25K. If you don't order these from the factory as part of your build, the price is 45K.

I agree. This is taking far too long.

They gave me my deposit back but are keeping me "in-line" its being outsourced and the other member here is suppose to get it soon, the 3rd party is finishing the testing unit first and if all goes well then they will produce the first one which one of our members will get since they were first in line and we will see from there.

At this point I am moving forward with my plans for the car without the Wing, and will re-visit the wing when its available, either by MPR or if someone is selling it from a wreck for a reasonable price.

I took my plan B pill, and now I will just wait longer for a wing. Ain't nothing I can do about it but prepare.

Have SA paint your decklid to match and worry about the holes later. I wouldn't give up on the wing just yet.

The spare trunk lid has been delivered to my POC, and it will be painted by SA and sent back to me with the car. I am on MPR's list for a wing, and I will get one eventually. When I do, I will be all set to go. That's what I meant about being prepared :sunglasses:

I've been working to acquire my own setup since January of 2018. I actually had an arrangement with my dealer in November of '17 for his GT500 allocation and figured I'd be able to meld one of the wings to an S550 decklid for the car I hoped would be coming. I dropped off the red decklid you see here (my original GT350 decklid) a few days ago to be painted Oxford White. I drilled holes for the wing uprights and am having the now exposed holes in the center of the decklid welded shut. Can't wait to get it all together.

Note that the end plates are not shown but bolt in place and are adjustable. And if anyone asks...I'll have to quote the much beloved Sergeant Schultz from Hogan's Heroes.
