Hello everyone,

I’m having this center dash rattle due to the plastic around the speaker as per the attached video.
Usualy it goes away after temperature change.
Does anyone know a way of fixing this?
What could I do to silence it?
I tried putting sound deadening all around the area, but that really didn’t help that much…

Thanks in advance for any help!

Inject any type of silicone sealant along that area , to stop the 2 surfaces rubbing together

But what kind of surface is underneath it? It seems to me that the issue is under this plastic piece but I’m not really able to get under there.. atleast I don’t know how to.

It's the plastic piece closest to the windshield. I have a match book inserted between it and the windshield and so far that has fixed it.

Take the speaker out to access that area. You could use just about anything to wedge between the to plastic surfaces rubbing together.

Don’t think it’s the piece closest to the windshield.
Clearly you can see on the video that it’s the piece around the center speaker.
But I can’t figure out towards which other piece it’s making this sound, if it’s something even below it..

So you think it’s some plastic underneath the one I’m showing on the video towards which it’s rubbing?

yes. it’s either that or some part of the dash frame work /support structure rubbing. Take the speaker out and give everything a push , pull and a poke and see what makes the noise stop.
thats where I would start Anyway.

Do you suggest a way of solving it by any chance?
Thick foam padding/Tessa tape/felt padding?

Some weather stripping for windows could work.

Something that will apply a little pressure and keep the two elements separated while also giving some cushion is what I'd be looking to squeeze in there.

Yes, I already put alot of deadening foam on the upper part all around the speaker, but the issue is underneath somewhere and the only possible entrence there is through the speaker hole … so quite limited.
Shame I can’t even find anywhere how it looks below there..

I'd follow the advice the other poster here said, remove the speaker, get at the underside area and pad it up on the underneath.

I thought mine was the center speaker cover too. Hope you find it.
