So what's a rough estimate for a built short block with a Predator block? Nothing extravagant.
9200ish. Then you need all new timing shit, head studs, head gaskets, balancer, OPG, CS and anything else you plan to do with the heads.

Yeah that's a huge NO for me! I'll keep playing with the stock blocks. They are plenty stout for my naturally aspirated dreams!

I would rather see an aluminum godzilla block.

I think they would sell 10 times more alumazilla blocks than an iron yote block

I'm surprised the weight difference is only 100 lbs.
I think the difference is closer to 120lbs
the iron 4.6 block was about 150lbs

the aluminum 4.6 blocks were 80 or 85lbs (Teksids were a couple lbs lighter)

so there's only 65-70lbs difference there

Is there that much difference between the Coyote and 4.6 blocks?

i am picturing a 25lb iron weight plate in my head, that isn't a ton of material but still.

edit: ford lists it at 203lbs finished. Wow!

The iron yote block was designed as a heavy duty race block, it's going to be heavier than a production iron block would be.

The price is egregious. $3999 would be ideal.
203 lbs….80 what’s a sleeved AL block coming in at? 130ish?

I agree a sleeved bear block I think is cheaper 😳

A stock alum, sleeved block I'd guess is 90lbs. I never thought to weigh one. The Bear block already comes sleeved upon arrival.

Oh that’s lighter than I thought I figured with steel caps and bolts it would be 120ish 😳
