If u take the valve covers off you should b able to tell if its a rocker, if its not a rocker sounds like an issue with the timing chain to tensioner could b taking a shit or loose guides making that sound if your not mechanical yourself bring it to a shop you trust have them take pictures of the hole process then slam it in Fords face to get it fixed under warranty if they mess with u call the bbb and put in a claim

Nope, nothing happened leading up to the tick.

I’m not the original owner, I bought it used at about 70k miles.

Current mileage is 85k.

I did actually switch both brands and weight. I went from pennzoil to mobil 1 5W-30. Been wanting to switch over to 5W-30 for a while cause I heard it’d help with the bbq tick.
