I don't care where it's made or who it's by.. as long as it works, installs/fits easily and is cheap Lol.

I'm not looking to go full bolt ons or even tuned.. I just want to stop the damn heat soak.

Stock with an upgraded panel filter, like the Green.

As I posted previously, the EB grill intake area if fully sealed from the Radiator and IC area.
A simple drill of the grill will give you some noticeable results:

I wanted to replace the grille originally when I got the car to the GT grille as it looks more aggressive.. at the time some one had posted up an OEM GT supplier that was like $60.. (can't seem to find it on the forums) I look up some aftermarket grilles, the damn price is $300+ from most vendors.. for a non painted piece of plastic, F that.

If you guys say the stock box with larger inlet grille is the way to go then I'd give it a try, does anyone here have a lead to where I can buy an OEM style grille on the low? I don't want to cut mine up rather do it to a spare Lol.

I'm still leaning towards upgrading the intercooler tho.. I spend an awful lot of time in traffic in 90+ degree weather.. at least I'm at sea level.

It's not, the picture is wrong but the part number is correct.

Just google the part number (FR3Z-8200-BA)

No idea why they have the wrong picture...

Yep, this is correct. Livernois told us that they made some changes to their specific model vs the standard Airaid model, but we never found out what those changes, if any, were. Even so, it should still be a unit that performs very well.
I have the Livernois unit, and I believe it's built by Airaid but engineered by Livernois. (They really have a fantastic engineering team... their years of expertise with the EcoBoost platform has resulted in some amazing, stable power gains.) I also have one of their units for my 2012 SHO and I believe that's also built by Airaid for Livernois.

I will say this though... I got an email today from FedEx saying I was getting something shipped to me from Livernois. I wrote Jaimie, the Livernois rep that's on here, and he said he saw the pics in my post here on Mustang6G.com and realized their shipping dept. sent me the incorrect (but perfectly fitting) design for the brushed metal piece that holds down the clear window (I initially received the Airaid edition, not the Livernois edition, which is a single window area)... so he sent me one without me even asking for one. Gotta say, that's just amazing customer service. Very impressed, as always.

But are they worth it, other than sound and looks??

The conical style of filter has a significantly larger surface area than the stock filter, so even if their enclosures each reduce the possibility of the intake getting hot engine air, the conical design will allow more air through without compromising filtering. That said, if the high flow drop-in filters that fit the stock box move as much air as the conical style, then with their smaller surface area, they must, by definition be more porous.

Said another, more technical way: the more surface area with the same rate of air flow per square inch = more air... let's say there's 10 square inches of a material that passes 30cfm per square inch - that's a total capacity of 300cfm for the entirety of the material. Let's say a second filter with a surface area is 6 square inches with the same rate of air flow per square inch will yield a total capacity of 180cfm for the entirety of the material in that second case. Therefore, to increase the 180cfm to the same 300cfm rate of air flow without altering the size of the filter, one would have to make the smaller one more porous to allow more air per square inch to pass through. That last bit makes me nervous if the porosity is great enough to allow contaminants into the engine via the intake.

That said, it's entirely possible that both the conical and drop-ins are meeting the needs of the engine just as they are, with the conical style being "overkill" and the drop-ins being "just right" and perhaps neither can pass any more air than they already do simply because the engine simply isn't demanding more air than what either one is capable of providing. What if tuned, that could certainly demand more air, would that make a difference? Personally, based on my experience, I think it does... at the very least, I'd want to give my ride the best possible chance for the best possible airflow - so to me, surface area and filter quality definitely matter... and I will say that I definitely got a little more top end out of my SHO when I put the conical style intake on it. Just sayin'. :D

At the end of the day, I chose the conical filter to err on the side of possible overkill - plus - they really do look pretty sweet!! :headbang:

Sorry for the long ranty speal, but I'm trying to keep myself awake long enough to go pick up my daughter from a football game. lol.

Glad to help.

Here's how I cut out the honeycomb:

1. Used a small drill bit (1/8) for pilot holes in each honeycomb
2. Used as big a drill bit as possible per hole, less to grind out later
3. Used a Dremel with cone-shaped grinding bit to finish

Worked well and took about 2-3 hours to finish. Was trying to be as careful as possible.

Nice! Are there any downsides to cutting out the Honeycombs? Like getting water in the Intake or worsen aerodynamics? Cutting it out makes sense when you think about it, but Ford had to have something in mind when they designed it, right?

I love my mishimoto intake and looks perfect under the hood because the matt black matches the engine bay perfectly. Also it's sealed and carb legal for California people. Draw back you ask? It's expensive as hell lol

Well I placed an order for the GT upper grille from Bear Lake.. even tho the shipping was expensive with that discount code all together it was cheaper than any other place I could find online, even ebay.. Lol. Thanks again.

I'm gonna cut out the area around the cai port.. not sure how yet since I don't have a drill or a dremmel or anything other than a screw driver, a hammer and a socket wrench

I'm gonna look into that green filter as well... sure am going to miss the sound of the MMR CAI tho.. gonna have to look into that VTA mod with the rubber cap thingy Lol.. I need at least some turbo sounds..
