  1. Oil leak? Ecoboost cylinder 2 misfire, rough idle at cold start for 10-30 seconds

I didn't contact Livernois. I haven't had their tune on there for most of the winter. The problems cropped up after I restored the stock tune. I doubt putting it back on would fix what appears to be a physical problem. Anyhow, if you look at the boroscope video for #2, you can see a drop of oil...
  2. Oil leak? Ecoboost cylinder 2 misfire, rough idle at cold start for 10-30 seconds

Hi Everyone, So I'm just beyond frustrated at this point. My 2016 Ecoboost Mustang has what seems to be an oil leak into plug well #2, causing oil fouling and rough idling on cold starts after the car's been run until good and warm and then let sit for a day or so. The roughness sounds like a...
  3. Help! Ecoboost engine bay CLICK after hard rev or acceleration

Thanks for replying everyone. When we were testing for that noise, the climate control was in the off position, as was the radio, just to make sure we could hear it. Now, if the AC/heater clutch works regardless because the car's coolant runs through the heater core, or some such thing, then I...
  4. Help! Ecoboost engine bay CLICK after hard rev or acceleration

Hey everyone... started noticing a possible issue on my 2016 Ecoboost Mustang the past few weeks. If I accelerate quickly, I hear an audible (sometimes loud) "click" noise. So today, I had my wife rev the engine with me in the engine bay, and heard it clearly a few seconds after each rev. I...
  5. CAI for Ecoboost - Open vs. Closed Box

Adam, far be it for me to contest your results; if you say the stock airbox outperforms with your tunes, then I believe you; all good. That said, everything that moves follows the path of least resistance seeking equilibrium with its environment as the nature of physics demands. (High...
  6. CAI for Ecoboost - Open vs. Closed Box

I have the Livernois unit, and I believe it's built by Airaid but engineered by Livernois. (They really have a fantastic engineering team... their years of expertise with the EcoBoost platform has resulted in some amazing, stable power gains.) I also have one of their units for my 2012 SHO and...
  7. Livernois Windstorm Intake & HOOD STRUTS!!

OK, so I got real excited to find that Ford Racing makes hood struts for the Mustang. I was actually really surprised to see an old fashioned hood prop under the hood when it was stock. So my 2nd mod (after the exhaust, which was first) was the hood struts. It was much easier working on the...
  8. Oil out the tailpipe??

Hey, cool, thanks guys!! I can live with that ;) A little surprising I guess - given that it's the stainless steel version and isn't likely to corrode, but that's ok - I buy it. This was my first exhaust install fwiw - so other than that weirdness it went really well!
  9. Oil out the tailpipe??

I actually thought about soot and water - except it's brown not black - and the exhaust was installed only this afternoon, with only a few dozen miles put on it. (It seems it'd need more time than that to build enough enough soot to seep soot and water like that, right?) Good point about there...
  10. Oil out the tailpipe??

Hey guys... 2nd posting... I just got done installing an MBRP Race exhaust on my 2016 non-PP EB Mustang. Sounds awesome... but after a test drive of about 40 miles or so, I went to verify my bolt torques and saw a bit of oil seeping out of the joints between the exhaust components. Not a huge...
  11. New Mustang owner... HI!

Thanks for the recommend and for a clue about the secondary IAT sensor, great info! Now, has there been a need also for... performance trans coolers and/or other common preventative mods?
  12. New Mustang owner... HI!

    Awesome, thanks for the recommends!
  13. New Mustang owner... HI!

Fair enough - Honestly, I'll not be getting toooo crazy with this car, as I won't be drag racing it - that's what I have the SHO for ;) So I too would probably go with a more plug and play unit. This has happened on both the SHO and the F-150 Ecoboost, so it sounds reasonable that it would...
  14. New Mustang owner... HI!

Thanks for the tip. Any recommendations on the most effective intercooler(s)? Are there common favorites that drop the air charge temp the most? (And how has that been measured, I'm guessing the IAT is prior to the intercooler, not after it? (I haven't looked yet - I don't even have my factory...
  15. New Mustang owner... HI!

Regardless of the reason why a break-in period might be called for (on just about any new car iirc), the manual from Ford does say 1,000 of varied driving, but not too fast and no towing during that time period... so... considering that's only a couple week wait before really pushing the car...
  16. New Mustang owner... HI!

    Thanks for the welcome, guys!
  17. New Mustang owner... HI!

Hey all... I've wanted a Mustang since I was 16 years old - finally bought one. Not even 300 miles on 'er but I already love it. I'm coming from a 2012 SHO with the 3.5 Ecoboost, which I still have and still love. My new mustang is just gorgeous - love the 6gen styling, and honestly, sitting...
