I have the unleashed tune with an automatic and like it a lot. I like that the tune isn't obnoxious for just driving around town. Anything over ~25% throttle in Drive and the tune comes alive!
The tune in Sport mode makes its presence know 100% of the time, very awesome.
First thing I would do is call or chat with AM support. Tell them the situation and they may be able to help.
Second option: sacrifice a socket... you can usually find a socket that is just a bit smaller than would fit on it and, very carefully, hammer it on to the lock-nut.
Second option...
Next question:
Has anyone upgraded to the rear GT brakes?
I know the only difference is the rotors are vented (with wider caliper to compensate)?
Any issues?
I'm looking to do the same upgrade (Ecoboost base -> GT base brakes).
I just purchased a set from Shelby on Ebay.
Does anyone know if I need to get different dust covers?
If so, what part numbers?
Thanks!
There is only one plug that controls the shutters.
Sounds like you unplugged the outside temp sensor, located in front of the IC.
You shouldn't have to remove the bumper to re-connect it, just the plastic engine guard that is held on by ~20 screws.
In hindsight:
1. Should have stayed with stock CAI if I wanted max performance
2. Should have gone with Roush CAI for open intake.
That said, I think I can make it look better and work better if I get an Airaid intake tube. The stock intake tube pushed the box up (left side).
I don't think it was pre-production but I cannot verify one way or the other.
I think this is what Ford did:
1. Build adapter plastic piece for stock intake tube to fit GT350 intake.
2. Ship me entire GT350 intake un-modified (with the wrong intake tube, MAS, etc.) and throw in the adapter...
You can hear it sucking in more air and can hear the turbo spool a bit more.
Overall not a huge difference in sound when the hood is shut.
I left the vent tube installed so there is not much of a difference in sound when the BPV opens.
However, like other CAI's, if you want the BOV sound you...
I installed this on Saturday. I already have an Unleashed Tune and it worked fine, no additional tune necessary.
If your EB is a US version, I don't think you need a tune since it doesn't use a mass air sensor. However, you may not see any benefit until you get a tune.
A couple of notes on...
Thanks everyone for your feedback. I picked up a different T-Bolt clamp to make it work, though I think it is 1/4"in too big.
I plan on reaching out to Mishimoto support. Has anyone else done that?
All,
I finally found time to install my new intercooler and charge pipe kit.
The intercooler (CPE) installed with no issues.
However, on the Mishimoto pipe kit the 2.0" in t-bolt clamp appears to be too small. It will not even fit (fully open) over the bare turbo outlet.
Any ideas...
Glad to help.
Here's how I cut out the honeycomb:
1. Used a small drill bit (1/8) for pilot holes in each honeycomb
2. Used as big a drill bit as possible per hole, less to grind out later
3. Used a Dremel with cone-shaped grinding bit to finish
Worked well and took about 2-3 hours to finish...
