I'm willing to bet that even with all the best options the 2018 isn't going to be over a second faster than the current one. Everything looks awesome on paper but when in the actual driver seat you could never tell the difference. I wouldn't let something such as a "newer" refresh keep you from going out and buying a car. You are going to miss the best seasons to drive the car.

I tend to agree with that, especially considering I am in a similar climate as you. October gets sketchy, November is pretty much park it time. Not too mention that is another 7-8 months of crossing my fingers the Subaru doesn't blow up lol.

I'd be leary of the HPFP and Dual Mass Flywheel. Both have been problem areas on previous cars I've owned.

Time will tell....

Ya grabber blue with forgestats and a stick is calling my name. The 18 is cool but I plan on changing the hood, front bumper , grille , spoiler and exhaust anyway so idk if a 18 is worth it

On the fence. Due to pocketbook restrictions I'm probably not going for the new 2018 high-end options anyway, if they cost as much as I expect. And I'm kind of concerned about the complexity & durability of the new 10 speed tranny until it's proven.

I think it will come down to what the incentives look like on late 2017 cars, and weighing that against how much the power/torque increase is for the 2018 GT. Anything less than 455 HP would be kind of disappointing.

10 Speed Automatic

That's assuming it works. There are plenty of Evoque owners hate their newfangled quick shifting 9 speed auto boxes. The Raptor boys are also having trouble with the Ford 10 speed. For sure it will be good by the time the s650 comes out, but I wouldn't want to be a test mule for it.
Test mules have been out for a while and I am sure Ford has tested the heck out of it before throwing it in their premier Pony. Check out the links below.

^^^ That 10 speed shifts fast and hard. Should be a nice upgrade to the S550 refresh.

Love that the 18 is getting all this new stuff. So by the time i get a s650, the bugs should be out.
