I have decided not to cancel my order...I am going to wait until the convertible arrives. Then, if I find anything that is major...such as panel mis-alignment, etc. I will cancel the order and wait a couple of more months and order a 2016.
Im with you on this

I'll speak for my car. I was told it "shipped" last wednesday 3/11. That is not true even though COTUS shows it in transit. It has been sitting at Flat Rock until yesterday where it went on a truck in the morning to the rail yard. We'll see when it actually gets moving. That is why my EDD keeps getting pushed out.

They did, but I believe actually production doesn't start till the end of August. That means waiting till the end of September for a 16. I know I plan to enjoy my 15 all summer long this year.

My salesman called last night, the Guard GT PP I ordered arrived, I'll be photographing it for them tonight. Will be my first time getting to see a Guard Mustang in person, I'm excited but at the same time worried I'll be upset I took the black one. Oh well, stay tuned for photos.

Please report back ANY QC issues that are apparent when you take delivery of your 'hold' Mustang. Reports are coming in that the same QC issues that are common on non-'hold's are on the 'holds'. The multi-week hold WAS for only one problem and to hell with using that time to check for any other problems.

The black GT I'm driving had a minor door ding (lot damage) on the passenger side, and the hood does vibrate on the freeway, but all my cars did that, and lot damage isn't uncommon, there were no fitment issues that I could see. And I made sure to go over it. I'll let you know on this Guard one though.

Almost here

I just spoke with my dealer today. The car is in Texas, just east of Dallas, so it has around 400 miles to go to get to Houston.
Now. To save appox. 3 days, the dealer said he can have one of his drivers pick the car up in Spring Texas, which is around 40 miles from the dealership, and drive it here. After some questions, I agreed to this plan. He said the guy that would be driving it is in his early 60's, and has been doing this for them for years, but it is up to the customer whether they want it delivered to the dealer in this manner. otherwise, I would have to wait until it is loaded onto a carrier, and delivered. Dealer told me that could take up to 3 days more.
What do you all think of this plan? Am I crazy for letting some stranger jump in my new car and put 40 miles on it? I am putting my faith in the dealer. he says this person is very trustworthy and reliable, or they would not be using him......
So....I may actually have the car by the end of the week...

Just to clarify. The Train delivery point for the Houston area is somewhere near Spring, Texas, and from there, the cars are loaded onto carriers, and delivered to the dealers in the area....But most dealers offer the option of having someone pick them up and drive them to the dealership. Just something for you guys to consider.

We used people like this all the time where I used to work. No Problems. If you REALLY can't wait a few extra days, go ahead.

With that said, I'd probably wait. (but I'm not in your shoes, so who knows. I might not)

Yeah, I know you are probably right, but being in the 2/2 hold week, I think most of us are "chomping at the bit" to get our cars. so I think I am going to take the dealers word that it is safe. But I would still like to hear the opinions of others. Who knows? If I get too many negatives, I might change my mind.....I have the same EDD as you Stang nut
