Took delivery of my Mustang GT with 8 miles on the odometer about six hours ago. 43 days from Order Date to Driveway. Thanks to everyone at Mustang 6G for sharing your experiences through this process and to Galpin Ford for a smooth transaction and wonderful turnaround time.
Had a chance to give the car a thorough visual inspection. Lowered my eye level, got up close and went to work. From the front fascia to the hood to the doors, bumpers and trunk - all good. I noticed the tiniest little misalignment on the bottom of the rear quarter panel, absolutely because I was looking for it. Passed my tolerance test instantly. For a machine assembled in Michigan and loaded onto a train bound for Southern California where it was loaded onto a carrier and transported deep into the San Fernando Valley, I'd say job well done to all involved.
The only detail I and the dealer overlooked at delivery -- wheel locks. They were in the glove box instead of on the wheels. Not a huge issue for me, I'll have it taken care of. If you've ordered wheel locks and want them installed, be sure to ask in advance.
Didn't sleep last night because of excitement. After my first "spirited drive" a few hours ago, I'm kinda feeling the same way tonight.
