Surprisingly, I never receive complements for the way my mustang looks. No one cares about American made muscle cars around here.I got tons of looks when I had a Genesis Coupe R-Spec.The 20-30 yearolds I come in contact with
rather own a WRX or a GTI..I drive for BMW and whenever I ride around in a m series ,thats the car that gets noticed.I am proud to drive my mustang
despite the lack of attention.Maybe if it was 2 inches off the ground and had opened headers it would be cooler LOL.
I hear you. Sadly, I get more attention in my Gremlin. But, I live so far removed from civilization that I'd be willing to bet 99% of the folks don't even know what it is. One broad that I worked with asked if "all Camaros" had stripes.

Haha I've had mine called a Camaro a few times. Usually by older couples that couldn't care less about newer cars haha.

I think the s550 just hasn't caught on to everyone as a mustang yet. At least in my area in Iowa. There are quite a few but not like some of the larger areas. A lot of euro cars here. Now my s197? Compliments EVERYWHERE. I had people come up all the time, but judging by the look on a lot of people's faces when I drives by in parking lots I see a lot of confused "nice ass car....but what the f*** is that?" Faces.

Quad Cities? Cool, I grew up about 20 minutes from there and made a lot of passes down Cordova.

Both my 69 and 70 Mustangs get called a Camaro all the time.

I get the thumbs up and people stopping and watching me drive by in a parking lot but usually it's cars catching up to me and driving in my blind spot forever, pacing me exactly.
I assume for the flat plane symphony. I did have a passenger lean over his driver with a video camera as they went by, pretty funny actually.

I posted to FB that my car was sending people to the chiropractor. My grandmother calls me frantic asking me if i was okay. She told me she thought the car was so fast it hurt my neck....

I live in MO and mustangs are far from rare but american muscle cars can be a big deal here. I get complements on a weekly basis on my s550. I was traveling from Kansas City to the Ozarks a few weeks ago and had 3 seperate people say they enjoyed the car. The first was a guy on a dual sport motorcycle at a gas station. The second was an old couple at Wal-Mart in the parking lot and the last one was a kid about 16 who yelled that he liled my car as I drove past him. Its nice having a car people can enjoy.
I was also on a cruise one time with about 40 other Mustangs of all generations and people were recording us driving down the highway together which was cool to be a part of.

Had a couple of compliments in the last few weeks. I was driving with my daughter and her friend, taking her back to her house... we were in a residential area so I was driving quite slowly...we came around a corner and there was a 5-6 year old boy on his bike with his parents... he yelled to his dad "Wow, Dad That is a really Cool Car!"
I was pulling into the parking lot of a church (one of my clients) and a lady was walking up to the entrance. I beat her to the door and went to hold it open for her...she said "that is an absolutely beautiful car".. she said it twice.. I was kind of surprised as I did not expect her to say that in that situation.... she did not look like a "car person" ...I am finding that it does not matter how great your car looks... a lot of people just don't care about cars other than a utilitarian thing to get you from point a to b... but the people who appreciate them are the ones who say something...It's just nice to hear it once in a while....

Funny thing with cars, I always think they are the great equalizer. Today I got my car back from the shop- had GT grills installed and a nick on my front clip repaired. I'm at a light and this incredible R8 spyder pulls up next to me with the top down and he's checking out MY car!?? Of course I was looking at his as well- we both then said at the same time "that's a hot car! " we laughed and I was like, no really- I love the R8. He said he's always loved Mustangs and has a couple of older ones at home. Thought mine looked great and was impressed it was a V6. The light changed and we drove off together a bit, me behind him and then we went on our separate ways. It never ceases to get to me that car people are just that, no matter the money or the ride, we can always find things to talk about and admire.

As I was leaving my neighborhood one day, a kid riding his tricycle saw me driving. He turned to face me, straightened up his back, made this kind of bulldog 'tough kid' look and gave me a thumbs up until I rode past. Best reaction I've gotten.

Constant ......

Staring from both driver & passenger sides from people looking at & into the car.
Caught a father & son staring at the car after I did a quick turn of my head because I felt someone staring at me from my side. Six Sense kind of thing with me. Literally no one needs to watch my 6.

The attention is ok sometimes but other times feels like being chased by the paparazzi. :(

I've owned lots of Mustangs over the past few years, but three of them were white and one was silver so they didn't get many looks. My 2003 Cobra was Zinc Yellow (I hated that color but the car was a steal) and that got some looks/compliments occasionally.

But my new 17 in grabber blue, holy crap I feel like a celebrity just driving down the street. I can't imagine what its like for someone with an actual exotic type car. In three weeks of ownership not one day has gone by without someone yelling from the sidewalk, trying to talk to me at a stoplight, thumbs up, little kids yelling at me to do a burnout, etc. Even had some guy in a 750hp Roush come back around after passing me while I was at a gas station to come and talk and give me a card for the local mustang club.

My favorite one was an old man that lives down the street, he must be about 90. I see him all the time walking his dog with the grouchiest look on his face, but a couple of days ago I was approaching him and he did a triple-take and gave me a big grin and a thumbs up.

I had a pretty funny thing happen to me while driving home from work today. This older guy in a Subaru Outback SUV pulls up right behind me and starts beeping his horn at me. I was like, what is even happening? So as a light is turning red, I pull into the right lane, thinking he was pissed that I was in the left lane, even though I was in a city and traffic was pretty slow in both lanes. Anyways, I get into the right lane, and he rolls down his window and yells "SORRY TO HONK AT YOU! I just wanted to let you know how beautiful and well taken care of your Mustang looks and your exhaust sounds amazing!" I get a huge grin on my face and just say "Thanks! I'm glad you like it so much!" Then he says "Again, really sorry to scare you. Feel free to get back over if you want." lol
