Breaking half shaft

If you break a half shaft, can you disconnect/remove it, and drive home on the other side?

I expect it's gonna happen at some point-and I wanna know if I can avoid the tow truck $500 bill.

Before the flames-I know the right answer is to just upgrade-and I'm working on that-just not there yet...

I would be careful just letting it break and assuming that it won't cause any other damage when it breaks. Would suck to have to pay for something like a diff due to negligence.

No. The only thing driving the remaining wheel would be the clutches in the Traction Loc, which would be quite hard on them if you were driving any distance.
