You could always go to your local dealer and look for yourself.
This. Florida is loaded with S550's. Plenty for you to view.

alignment and other issues

Yeah I meant the trunk, but wow... Lol. Not funny but just ridiculous how they could produce something so far from reasonably acceptable.
I was close to a heart attack :brokenheart: seeing what they had to do on a brand new car.

That's not how a car should have looked a like coming from the factory.

Still the gaps look like they cut the panels with scissors.

I honestly can't understand how anyone accepts a car like that. But looking at other peoples videos here & YouTube, seeing the poor alignments and fitments, makes me think that customers lost their taste for good work - accepting everything FORD is pushing out. Any Fusion, Focus or Edge looks much nicer and doesn't have this curves on the edges. My sons 2012 Focus looks much nicer and has already 75,000 km on it.

Again. I have no hope that FORD can deliver this Mustang like it should look a like. Before I bring it in for the engineer I like to measure the front on the fenders and back on the quarter panels to see how high/low there are.

Check it out before you buy!

THIS!

Do not order one without a penalty free cancellation option if it does not look like it should if you still like to order a Mustang. If the dealer does not accept it, please - walk away! You have to go through to much hassle if you believe your dealer that he can fix the car. Period!:paddle:

I looked at 3 on a lot yesterday. 3 hoods with a very small gap to fender on driver side only. I fixed mine by moving the fender out and then touching up the paint. I also had to touch up warn paint on the inner fender. God knows how that got there.

All 3 cars had bad alignment on the rear panel driver side too, 2 worse than others. These are all cars built in last month or so. I took off my panel and seeing no way to fix the alignment, put it back on. Will have to live with it. Don't want to touch major panels or taillight assembly.

The CSR from my region called me yesterday, they leave a message. If you call them back with your info to return you call they dont. Went through this last time. Jeff the guy on here with Ford is the only person who seems to care about the progress. Dealing with my dealership is not good for my blood pressure.

I spoke to my CSM just once by phone; and this one was on the 2nd call as I missed the 1st call the day before. I've left 1 message with her with no callback. However, she did response to my emails, except for the last one.

It definitely helps a ton if you have a great dealership. We have bought 10 cars from ours since '01. I recon that helps a lot too.

You see, that's what confirms what I am saying and seeing here in my area too. Maybe the body form is for FORD too complicated? They should have made changes in the factory weeks ago.

Yep would not buy from this dealer again. Gave me a good deal but not worth the customer service and service to my vehicle. Just trying to be patient

It will be nice when Ford puts the Quality Control Team back on the assembly line for the start of the 2016 builds. So strange as to why they had no QC working the line for the 2015 model year. lol

Well being this is a recurring problem. What do you guys feel is acceptable as far as misaligned panel go in order to take delivery of your car? I know its an expensive car, perfection or bust. But how neat picky can you be before you say forget that and go home empty handed?

I think the problem is Ford's production tooling. This is a tolerance issue related to the plant's capabilities, not a QC issue. Unfortunately, it costs a ton of money to overhaul a factory which is necessary if you want to achieve consistent, high quality production. I don't expect to see any significant improvements for MY16 and beyond.

In extreme cases like this, Ford should buy these cars back for the original sales price, fix them and sell them at a heavy discount. No one who buys a brand new car should have to go through this, and end up with a car that has basically been rebuilt like it has been in some kind of major wreck. Horrible.

My own car isn't perfect, it has uneven shut lines at the lower corners of the rear window and along the sides of the hood (one side narrower than the other), but it's minor enough that I would rather just live with it than have some monkey take it all apart and probably end up scratching the paint and maybe even making it worse.

"Expensive" is all relative. In terms of the performance you're getting for the price, it's a relatively cheap car. I definitely do not expect "perfection" when I buy a Ford. If people did then all the luxury brands would immediately go out of business. However, there is still a line to be drawn as to what is acceptable and what is not. Where you draw that line is somewhat subjective and down to each individual. But it's clear that some unlucky folks here have cars that are way on the wrong side of that line by anyone's standards.

Same here, went to 3 dealers in my town in the last week and literally every single car has body panel alignment issues. Some very obvious and others barely noticeable but there just the same. One had a gap on the drivers side door where it is connected to the car large enough to stick my finger through and the gap on the passengers side was so thin you would be hard pressed to get a dollar bill through. Also, I did notice the rear glass alignment issue on most of the cars as well. Hopefully this will be fixed when the 2016's come out.

Would you say one or two panel that are fixable is acceptable? Three or four would be grounds to walk away? I'm pretty nervous as my order will be here in 20 or so day and scared of being disappointed.
