Giving ME.......

what kinda free stuff do you want? I'm in for free stuff
I could think about a couple things.

  • Reimburse my 7 year/100,000 warranty
  • 10 % off the money I paid for
  • Taken over finance to 0% interest
  • Giving me a different ride every 12 month for free

But we know it won't happen.... :(

Twisted body.

Members are asking here always WTH I am complaining. Actually I am way over with complaining. I am pointing out things to people who like to buy a new S550 Mustang. Doesn't matter what year because I lost hope that FORD would fix these cars....

As I mentioned before, the people in the body shop said they can't fix this "crooked" car at all. Why? Here are some pictures from my car after the body shop worked on it like FORD Customer Service asked for:

Sorry! We have garbage day and got yesterday snow again. The car was parked outside. When I got my car back, I mentioned again that the hood is on the front still twisted. Body shop manageress said that's "the best" we can do. Today with warmer weather, I drove the car on our leveled driveway. Opened the hood and put a water level on top of he two rubber stoppers. As you can see on the picture above the hood fits the fenders left and right. Take a look at the water bubble and you now know why I am the whole time saying that the frame or body on this car is twisted:

* I know, the water level is banged up but still straight *
Looking at my doors and how he fenders are *not* fitting and I am always saying that I could cut veggies on the edges/steps. Take a look - and well, yes. That's after the body shop tried to straighten the doors and fenders. That's "the best" they could do....

*I hope you can see "the view" arrows where the passenger door, fender and hood don't fit. And every edge has as you see a "step". I'm not pointing out here the "waves" in the gaps. This comes later. :D

Take a look on the right side:

Look at the gaps. Now I am pointing them out. Horrible! The edges on every panel look like they cut them out with a knife. :tsk:
You think that this is a car made in the 21st Century....

Do you like to see my bumper after the shop tried to straighten them out?
Ohhh well. You asked for it! Don't blame me.....
Right rear, quarter panel:

Left rear, quarter panel:

Nice, looks different IMHO!

BTW. Did I mentioned already the free cut stile on the doors? NO? Take a look at my passenger door:

* I hope you guys can see the "waves" in the picture. *

Maybe I can point out some issues to our new members who are still shopping. If you take a really good look at all the pictures here posted already - "maybe" you are getting happy on choosing the right car.

*The SAGA continuous*

Looks like I am the latest 'victim' of the alignment monster.:)

Not sure how this happened. The panel and bumper alignment was spot on when I picked up the car back in January.
Fun. Went in for regular service today and mentioned the bumper issue. Dealer said the bumper cover has warped and can't be fixed. Waiting on Ford to authorize a replacement.:frusty:

Update: I had an arbitration hearing on Monday for my warranty claim against Ford. Ford denied my request for a replacement vehicle stating that I don't meet the Lemon Law requirements. I haven't had three repairs for the same issue because Ford has refused to repair it making it impossible for me to meet the requirements. The arbitrator's decision was for Ford to fix the alignment of the hood, trunk, passenger door, driver windows, rear and front. Next step after repairs are made is for me to inspect my car and if the problems still exist I have to notify the BBB and proceed with my Lemon Law claim.

I dropped my car to Ford on Tuesday for alignment of the hood (passenger side gap is twice as wide as driver's side (or vise versa)), passenger door gap on the rear top seems like the the door is open when it's closed, driver's door is not flush with the front fender, I also found bubbles on the trunk's black plastic lid (the one with GT letters)!!, plus this black lid is not flush with the taillights. Since Tuesday there are no any contacts from Ford been made, even with the estimation of the repair time. I called once by myself, they told that the car was taken to the body shop (don't know if that is true) and they didn't hear anything from the body shop.

Watch out. Looks like that your trunk lid issue is the one we are posting about. I hope they don't cut out all rear windows...

Isn't body panel misalignment somewhat common on US cars ? No hate but I like just watching random car video's for any kinds of mods and I noticed a lot of US cars have horrible exterior body panel alignment and nasty edges on the plastics. For everyone who has seen the 2005 Top Gear review of the F150 that was the worst, I know its not nearly as bad as it was back then :)

All my info comes from what I have seen on youtube and heard on forums. But how is the quality in general on american cars ? And how much can you have fixed by the dealer I mean its not supposed to be misaligned and have any kinds of issues right ? Suppose that's all fixed under warranty ?

Had a 2012 Golf and have to say wasn't very impressed, mostly harsh edges on plastic. Was build in Mexico though.

Do you refer to the black "appliqué " is not being flush with the lights?
If yes - what the rear windows have to do about it?

The trunk lid is with the rear window a indicator that these Mustang's have the lower left quarter panels. As JWS and I already posted, there isn't a easy fix for that.

The car is still in service. No any feedback from the SA unless I call them.
Regional customer service manager supposed to follow up with me and with the dealership. Never did. However I got the call 10 days ago from Senior customer service manager, buy I was unable to pickup the phone at that moment (yeah, I know, unlucky :) ). Since then I did try to contact both them I guess 20 times (may be more), but it always the voice mail on the other end. Left a voice message including case number - nobody did call back.
My dealership have no clue when I'll get the car back. What they say is that bodyshop doesn't have any ETA for the completed repair/alignment of the body panels. Sucks. I forgot what was the color of my car. Today is 6 weeks since I own it. I did see it probably 3 weeks.

My car goes in next Wednesday to see the engineer. I have no hope that he will not cover up FORD. I know already what the outcome will be. "The car is crooked but in the 2" tolerance of a skyscraper!" That whole scenario is a joke what FORD is playing with us customers.

I just checked into your case notes, and see that the repairs were approved. It looks like the CSM said they reached out multiple times, the last being 5/8. Please let me know if you're not getting their messages. I'll update them of your contact attempts. Would you prefer to be contacted via email, to perhaps avoid the phone tag?

Jeff,
Yes, I know, that the repairs were approved before 5/5/2015. It just been 9 full working days and the SA still doesn't have even approximate ETA.
Email will work fine as well. I believe you should have it on the file.
Thanks!
