I looked at my neighbors 2015 last night and his is the same way but not as bad. I also had the service writer at the dealership tell me yesterday that they had more on the lot the same way. This is the only issue I have with this car but to me it is a big one. I'm hoping that someone at Ford will step in and come up with a real solution. I am willing to work with Ford and get this resolved. I am a Ford man through and though and like I said before love this car. I'm positive it will work out.

Looks more pronounced close-up.

This is Husker's LE. Mine is the same in that area. The problems with LEs is that you can't have them buy it back and get another one.

New to the forum, just found this issue with my car today. Passenger was squeaking when I opened so I looked closer and the door is rubbing the quarter panel enough that the paint came off. Took to nearest dealer and they had to take pics and send to ford.

I've been pretty unlucky. I've taken my car to two different dealers now here in Charleston SC and I was told on both occasions that they are not going to fix my car's misalignments (front/back drive side bumper, doors, back glass, etc). I'm not worried about it right now since I have other issues to take care of first (engine/trans), but I'm gonna have to try my luck somewhere else.
I'd try and contact one of the ford service reps on this forum and see if they can help you.

I'm really pissed about my car, it's truly awful. It looks like it was in a wreck and high school students did the body work. How the fuck do you sell a "Special Order " car with creases in almost every panel, every panel so far out of alignment that it can't be fixed because an incompetent line worker wielded panels on to the unibody crooked! WTF? Does Quality Control even exist? How did the dealership not see all of this during the PDI.? I don't even think it was washed and waxed, it had glue still on it in several places. I had my detailer clay bar and wax it and that's when I noticed creases in some of the panels. The first Collision Center at the dealership I bought it from barely looked at it and said it's a Mustang and it's what Ford Engineers consider within tolerance so I am not touching it. Second Collision Center manager at a different dealership said it's one of the worst he's ever seen. [emoji26] This is no way to treat a customer.

I bought it at Auto Nation Ford in Delray, the second dealership Collision Center was Auto Nation Ford of Margate, they are incredible and did an impeccable job on a warranty claim on my 06 and they do quality work. Mercedes sends theIr cars to them. I have a regional CSR and I have been calling Ford, Rachel is helping as much as she can on her end. I purchased on X Plan and told Ford and my CSR that if someone doesn't address my issues I will have to go to arbitration. I feel Ford should replace my messed up car with a newly built one with color and options exactly the same as my current vehicle, in addition QC needs to thoroughly check my car. I have also contacted my salesman and told him that Ford will need to replace my car. I'm trying to be patient, I pointed out several issues when I took delivery and they had me take it over to their body shop a few days later.

Wow. :( This subject of body panel misalignment has gotten me concerned enough to get my butt off the couch and go out to the garage to look at mine. I did not notice any uneven gaps or anything else out of the ordinary visually, so I laid my hand on areas where separate panels meet, comparing with how they felt on the opposite side. The only thing that was noticeable - by touch before I could see it - is the driver's door is closed flush against the body, whereas the closed passenger's door slightly juts out. I doubt I ever would have noticed had I not read this thread. Thankfully, this particular imperfection is easily tolerable.

Suddenly my ear-splitting-Fed-Ex-truck-banshee-scream brakes don't seem so bad. (Of course, it helps to know that Ford is about to release a TSB on this issue.)

Sorry you guys are having these problems. :brokenheart: Hope Ford resolves this to your satisfaction, and soon.

I've got the dreaded left front hood to quarter panel misalignment. The tip of the quarter panel is poking out away from the hood.

I didn't really notice until today but my entire trunk/tail light/rear fender area is completely misaligned.

Is this covered under warranty? My trunk doesn't seem like it's closing properly.

So far I had a catalytic converter replaced, a small dent from delivery fixed, a plastic piece of the driver's side door panel ordered, and now my car is misaligned. Sigh.. first time buying a car I'm not getting a first year model ever again.

So I have my GT premium PP on order since last week and have been following the forum. Getting really excited to get my car. I've had concerns after reading this particular thread,.... but decided to order anyway (finger's crossed).

Anyway went to the NE International auto show here and saw some very nice vehicles. Really liked the Audi S3, very sharp car, but pricey. I did take some pictures but decided to check out the 2 mustangs they had on show. One was a a Guard Ecoboast (in the main show room) and the other was a GT premium with PP (Red one) The GT looked good from what I could see. The Ecoboast, not so much.

Here is a picture of the Guard Ecoboast. Looking down the left side of the vehicle where the front portion of the driver's door meets the rear of the front left fender:

Here is the other side of vehicle (right side),... silky smooth:

After my talking with some dealership guys last night after dinner...just having fun, looking etc....I started the conversation about panel alignment. One Sales. Mgr. ( I think he was?)...looked at the other guy there and said.."do you remember the first one we got in...the white one?" They couldn't believe what they were looking at..it was so "messed up" with panel alignment issues. He said he didn't think that car ever was sold.

Ford MUST KNOW they are having these issues. By getting the Reg. Serv. Mgr. involved, calls to Ford Cust. Serv. to get your issue recorded and a case # assigned....and don't let up. IF your's is that bad...then it may not be fixed by a body shop by doing all the re-alignment. Has the top guy at a rep. body shop seen the car and given his "prof. assessment" of your car...and if it is "fixable" by a seasoned body person? If it's that bad...and he's saying...it's really bad, etc....I'd push for a new car.

My '98 Cobra Mustang was having issues as many of them and GT's were having with clutches and pressure plates. I found out there was no immediate fix...I relayed that to the Reg. Ford Serv. Mgr/Rep...and she said.."how did you know?"...connections I told her. I got my choice of a new car, truck, or all my money back. Chose the latter.

Most car company's wont just throw options at your feet when there is a real major issue going on. You have to "push the right buttons"....if not ALL of them....and get your issue resolved either by fixing what you have..or getting them to acknowledge your major problem...and ask them to buy it back...so you can decide what you what/need to do next.

IF a car "problem" is not causing injury or death...then the "wheels" move very slowly on production problems. But, they can be overcome...just don't ever let a dealer tell you....they won't fix it and it's not a warranty problem etc. BS!
Yes, everything is documented and I have had a case number and regional CSR from the start. I had my car looked at by a two Ford Collision Center managers, the first was lazy and complacent about panel alignment issues and kept going on about tolerance. I told him that's a complacent attitude and a cop out on Ford's part and that their engineers should be fired if that's their attitude.

The second Collision Center mgr told me it's not fixable and he was pretty angry that QC didn't pull the car from the line. He called and e mailed the CSR pictures of my car. I already told Ford and the CSR that I will not accept my brand new car having major body work and I will take it to arbitration if I have to. I'm not letting up either, I have been calling Ford and the CSR and they know I am not going to stop until it's resolved. The car's performance is incredible, I drive it like I stole it! I'm confident that Ford will replace it. It's a well known issue and I have no doubt that if it were a lighter color the alignment would be much more noticeable. Tomorrow I will have a call back from my CSR and I will be asking about a replacement vehicle.

Thank you for sharing! Unfortunately, the Red GT in your photos is far from perfect; see the photo I marked up below. From just the rear shot, you can see significant problems with the roof. This is the example that someone decided to send to an auto show?

This is just pathetic. I really want to buy this car (a GT Premium) and I am ready to make the purchase, but I am having serious second thoughts now. I understand that a Mustang has a lot of power and features for the money and I am therefore not expecting Lexus quality fit and finish, but I had no idea things had gotten this bad. I may resume shopping for a good, used Lexus IS-F now -- its just not going to look as cool next to my '65.
