Why not the 30Ah?

Uummm, a few minor reasons all considered. I have no electrical upgrades (big stereo, etc). There are fitment issues with the 30 in the stock battery box (too tall). Supposedly it's easlily modded and/or accomodated for, but with some of the uber nice mounts readily available for the 20, just fell outside my cone of interest. Car is not a DD and will live on a tender when not driven, so no worry about extended periods of time needed. And, pretty much 100% of reports from guys already running the 20 are completely trouble free. All this combined, there seemed to be no solid argument to get a 30 solely for the additional Ah, and then the slightly factored in price premium was the icing. After studying this topic in our community ad nauseam, there was just really zero pressing reasons to get a 30 'just because'.

Very well explained. Price aside, I wanted the extra 10Ah in case of a little longer KOEO time needed in certain situations. I ran a 18Ah battery back in the 2007 year, and it caught me off guard a few times.

Oddly, the ATX20 is 30ah. The ATX30 is 48ah

Weird ratings yes. Actual useable amp hours on the ATX-30HD is 24 though.

Longest rest test I have done now is 9 days. Battery only dropped 1%.

I wouldn't recommend the car sitting at 0° for more than a day or two. Better to keep them above 25-30°F. At least the smaller size batteries in the 10-40Ah range anyway.

That was also another factor for me. Car will not sit extended in the cold. Maybe 30's during the day and sit for lunch. If it's 20° outside, my garage will be 50°, and plugged up.

Should I do this if I replaced my battey about 16 months ago? Popped in Varta Silver Dynamic. 61ah with 600cca. Or just leave it until it needs doing next time?

General brand battery knowledge, cause I just discovered it. Replacing the battery in my wife's car. 10-year-old battery, working just fine. The age and the fact that it's in the rear, in the trunk, behind the PS fender, is the reason for the swap.

AC Delco removed, and replaced, lots of opinions about battery brands tossed around on the site.

It struck me, that the AC Delco has not been mentioned.

So I did a bit of what is offered for the Mustang. After all, I just replaced a 10-year-old Delco for no other reason than its age.

Here is what I found and think might surprise, or at least enlighten some.

Exact replacement for the factory box:

I installed a Ford AGM battery and tested this method. Confirmed with forscan that it worked.

This guide worked for me.
Battery icon flashed and all that.
Turned it all the way on an I had a CEL.
It was a warning saying the PCM had been de-energized.
Cleared it and let it run for a few minutes. Turned it off and locked it for the 8 hour slumber.

Went with 96R DieHard AGM for AdvancedAuto.

OEM battery on my 2016 GT finally gave out after all these years.
If the BMS kept a regular battery going this long, this AGM should outlive me.

I apologize if this was addressed in the preceding seven pages, but does the reset and even the 8-hour sleep need to be performed if the battery is merely DISCONNECTED for several minutes (and re-connected thereafter)?
