No. They are not bolted on. Almost as if they are molded to the mounting point.

Wow, thats an odd change. Most likely a cost saving redesign.

My '17 is the same way. Annoying. And correct me if I'm wrong, but you can't just go to the dealer and buy just the weight?

From what I can find, you can only buy the whole catalytic converter assembly.

Kooks reached back out to me. They no longer make the weight kit (1154 DKIT). I don't think anyone else makes a direct replacement so looks like some fabrication is in store.

I emailed them earlier today and they said they had something in the works that would be available soon as an add on option. They didn't give an ETA, but they made it sound like it was sooner rather than later.

"We are actually just about completed with testing on replacement dampers, and will soon be offering them as an optional add on for customer with a 2018 and up models.
Unfortunately pricing is not available just yet but will be posted in the very near future on our site as well as social media. The dampers are of OEM quality, and have been paired at nearly the same frequency as the OE GT350 units.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Customer Support
B-Line Motorsports"

The OEM dampeners are built specifically for the OEM mid-pipes/headers.

I run ARH long tubes, mid pipes, x-pipe, and resonators without dampeners harder than just about anyone else you will find and mine are holding up just fine.

No doubt you are a pioneer for the community. In your opinion would running the bline cat deletes without the weights cause damage?

I have the B-line cat-less pipes. They are top notch with respect to constructibility. I mainly went with them over Shifteck because of the vibration mounts but after receiving them and evaluating the quality of the welds and mandrel bends, they are worth the price. My installer also said they fit perfectly. I have zero complaints.

The car is damn loud, just amplified at every rpm, especially 2k-3k, that’s where it s the raspiest. It’s just a different sound though, more muscular. It sounds like it has 1000 hp. Idle sounds amazing, as does WOT. The valved exhaust is a life saver though because with them shut, it’s only slightly louder than stock, I don’t have to worry about pissing off all my neighbors.

The smell is definitely something you have to get used to though. I drive with my windows open all the time and when you come to a traffic light, the exhaust smell waves through. Nothing while driving though. And I’m running Lund’s E85R tune, it’s obviously worse with 93. I also have the ghost cam tune...yea, I know some say it’s gimmicky but man I love it. When I roll into car shows with that thing loping, people just swarm lol. Sounds pretty sick IMO. PM me if you want more info or any sound clips.
Ghost cam tune? I had my bullet model with racing cams just for that sound. How do you get it tuned to sound like you have that big lope sound?

Edit: never mind, I looked up and i now get it.

This is just MY theory based on how/what I've seen in my journey with this motor. But I'd venture to say that the dampeners were added to the stock mid pipes to reduce vibrations that were putting excess wear on the OEM system. The OEM system is good, but a quality piece from someone like B-Line is higher, using better materials, and therefore more durable. If I had to guess, the dampeners were added to reduce NVH for the passenger compartment and reduce stress on the factory pipes.

You're not going to shake your engine apart without them if you're worried about something like that. IMHO, without finding the correct spot and weight to place the dampeners on the pipes, you're just shooting in the dark adding dampeners. Could help, might do nothing, or might even be hurtful.

Just checked their website...pipes are showing up with factory dampeners on.

Edit...never mind. I think it’s just a pic that’s always been there showing the bolt in style dampeners. Sorry.

Really, really like looks/quality of these BLine pipes! I received exact same worded response as NBrock (post #23). I've never gone with a catless setup and concerns are maybe too much rasp and unburned gas smell for me. I don't know....
