The struts have internal stops, the shocks require external.Don't all Bilstein dampers have internal bump stops already? Eliminating the need to transfer over the oem bumpstops?
Just pushed em down. No problems.Did you widen up the OEM bumpstops to resuse them on the shocks or just force them down? The Bilstein shaft is wider than the steeda shocks I have right now.
Probably a slight undersize would be good. I wonder if it's a pp vs non pp shock thing. They have different stops, iirc.I'm pushing down on the oem bumpstops on my Bilstein shocks and it's not going down. Wondering if I should widen them a bit. The Bilsteins are definitely wider than stock.
Problem is the shock is compressing. I'm pushing down that hard and they aren't moving. Even added some silicon spray to see if it would make it easier. Nope. They’re tight, just shove them on.
All I know is we both had PP rear shocks. Bumpstops should be identical. It was tight enough I thought something was wrong. Finally got fed up and forced them on, it’s worked great since.Problem is the shock is compressing. I'm pushing down that hard and they aren't moving. Just to be sure... only the rears. The front Bilsteins have internal bumpstops. Secondly, mine went over easily after I removed the dust shields and then installed them after they were in place.Problem is the shock is compressing. Yep, I know about the fronts. I had the dust boots off too. Still a pita, lol.Just to be sure... only the rears. The front Bilsteins have internal bumpstops. Secondly, mine went over easily after I removed the dust shields and then installed them after they were in place.
