Don't all Bilstein dampers have internal bump stops already? Eliminating the need to transfer over the oem bumpstops?

^ that was what I was wondering about too. Bilstein monotubes are supposedly to be inverted shocks with internal bumpstops...still wondering if that’s the case with mustang ones’ as well

Did you widen up the OEM bumpstops to resuse them on the shocks or just force them down? The Bilstein shaft is wider than the steeda shocks I have right now.
Just pushed em down. No problems.

I'm pushing down on the oem bumpstops on my Bilstein shocks and it's not going down. Wondering if I should widen them a bit. The Bilsteins are definitely wider than stock.

Probably a slight undersize would be good. I wonder if it's a pp vs non pp shock thing. They have different stops, iirc.

They’re tight, just shove them on.
Problem is the shock is compressing. I'm pushing down that hard and they aren't moving. Even added some silicon spray to see if it would make it easier. Nope.

All I know is we both had PP rear shocks. Bumpstops should be identical. It was tight enough I thought something was wrong. Finally got fed up and forced them on, it’s worked great since.

I was going to use the Ford Performance bump stops but I couldn't get them to go on. I got the BMW M3 bumpstops Roadway used for his and they easily went on.

You guys were right. It was a bitch though. You can use the jam nut and washer to help move it down a little extra once the top threads are visible.

Just to be sure... only the rears. The front Bilsteins have internal bumpstops. Secondly, mine went over easily after I removed the dust shields and then installed them after they were in place.

Yep, I know about the fronts. I had the dust boots off too. Still a pita, lol.
