They sent it to me with Motul 75-90. 500 mile break in and then oil change. I’m at about 400 miles now. I still throw it in 2nd and then 1st and no issues since doing that.

@16RPG_Turbo what fluid is Calimer recommending in his stage 4 build?

Please keep us posted on how it performs for you, as you begin to put it through its paces.

My Calmier stage two transmission cost with a Mcleod hyd. line was $3857.00 and I will get a $500.00 core refund, and they pay the return shipping. $3357.00 is reasonable price in my opinion.

Seems reasonable enough if it shifts well. Local shop charges $500 for all the brass bits and full carbon synchros on an mt82. $600 labor and then extra for what ever sliders or gears have damage.

A new in the box from tremec T56 XL is $3500. Believe McLeod came out with a bell housing adapter that's cast aluminum like stock for $300 vs the $1200 generally listed for the steel ones if trying to piece a swap together.

I already have a DDS aluminum drive shaft in the car and if I bought other transmissions, I would have to buy a new drive shaft and that helped me go with Calimer, plus I have the Barton shifter.

Same, I already had the clutch, driveshaft, and MGW shifter. If the Stage 4 gives out I'm going with the T-56....

Dang man! What did Calimer say the lead time would be? That’s way too much money spent for him to be ghosting customers. I hate hearing stories like that and I know exactly what that feels like too. Been there before a few times. It might be time to send an email telling him you’re going to file a dispute with your bank to get your money back. That might prompt him to respond back to you.

I don't think I would ever consider spending that kind of cash on what is still an MT82 at the end of the day. I don't hate my MT82, it's light years beyond the one that was in my S197.

There are other options/builders out there to help with enhancing the D4 tranny. The only thing you may not be able to source is billet gears, as those are proprietary to Calimer and made by G-Force. Everything else he uses should be able to be purchased via different companies.

When I built mine, I sourced the billet shift forks from Amp Distributing and the carbon fiber synchros from Suncoast. From there, I sent all internal hard parts out to be cryogenically treated and WPC treated, after a call to Calimer resulted in me being told that he would only sell the billet gears to me if he did the build. Note: Cryo and WPC treatments were the next best thing that I could find to make the parts as strong as possible, since I couldn’t purchase the billet gears.

There’s also a member here on M6G that builds MT82 and the D4 variant too.

I understand that the stage fours were out a bit due to heavy demand. I ordered a stage 2, and it was a two-week lead time, and they were right on time, I had questions on it, and they responded to my e-mail the next day and I was satisfied with their response. I have it installed and doing the break in miles now. I love the feel of this transmission. It is better than the MT82 stock unit. I coupled it to the Mcleod RXT twin ceramic disc clutch and aluminum flywheel and that works great. No chatter or other noises, smooth and not a heavy pedal like I was told would be the case. I don't know but I would try the e-mail again. I had good luck and I did get them on the phone. Are they building it from scratch or did you send them your core?
