Are people just not buying Mustang GTs (or cars for that matter)?

My 2016 GT (see sig) has been posted to FB marketplace for over a month. Car is in great condition, clean title in my name, no wrecks, etc.

I have had maybe 6 people inquire about it and zero people actually show up to see it in person. Price started at a measly $26K (to account for some negotiating room) and now sits at $24k. Comparing my car to other gen 2 GT premiums on various sales sites and I believe this is a steal of a deal. Still......very little interest. What the F? Of course, I have had the dipshits send a lowball $18k offer, but I am not counting those as being genuinely interested. I don't need to sell this car, but I would like to make room in my driveway for something else and my Mach 1 is simply a better Mustang.

Anyone else having an issue selling a nicely modified, clean GT?

How many miles are on it? Seems a lot of folks are looking for low mileage cars, I was when I bought mine.

For the price you listed and the mods you have done I'd guess you need to find the right buyer. Lots of used car shoppers not gonna want that list of possible headaches and unknowns.

Longtube headers definitely make the car only for a certain type imo.

What's Carmax offer you for it?

I'd guess the car has seen some track time so that may be keeping people away.

If its not selling fast enough for you, the price is too high for your area. Pretty simple

People also tend to stay away from cars with lots of aftermarket parts on it. For most people, aftermarket parts make the car worth less than a stock one. The more aftermarket parts I see, the more I assume it was beat on hard

The physical modifications and tune will leave buyers discounting further for repairs or problems post-sale. You've kept the car well and enjoyed it. But the prospective buyer sees a Mustang that's been heavily modified, driven hard and approaching 100K miles.

It's a difficult sell.

Sorry, but if I see a car with aftermarket forced induction being sold, my assumption is there's a problem. I would need it to be very inexpensive.

But yes, I think the market for cars is low right now. It's not the best time to sell.

I think it's going to be a while, especially on FB marketplace. It's a 10-year-old car with 83k and an aftermarket supercharger where you're asking more than half of what I paid for my all-the-toys mt-82 2019 GT when it was new. From what I've seen, except on enthusiast sites any power-increasing engine mods at best add no value, and often lower it.

Looking at CarMax right now, they'll only give me $27k on a car that's 4 years newer and only 40% of the miles. Online pricing sites put mine in the low to mid $30k range for outstanding condition private sales. I can't see yours going at anywhere near your price on a "looking around for a car" online market.

Tracked 3 times, but 2 of those days was not a full send due to rain. The thing about people who track cars is they tend to be meticulous with maintenance. I see the issue most have about buying a car that has been to the track, but I'd say the majority of serious track users take better care of their cars than the people who "drive in Mexico".

The supercharger would suggest to me more "Mexico" than track time.
People are scared of getting a grenade.

Like everyone else has mentioned once you mod the car heavily your buyer pool shrinks.

At that price point you are targeting people with not a ton of money, usually younger guys who are okay with dropping money on a modified car but they will try to haggle you down a lot.

Serious buyers are going to be very concerned about the mileage and mods and the people who can actually afford to maintain and drive a high performance modded car will be willing to spend more to get a stock car and mod the way they want, or buy a really serious build.

If you don’t need it to sell, hold out for a buyer

That's getting up there for a 2016 @ $26k. Seems like it has decent mods, just wait for the right buyer or drop it to $22k
Honestly, not really. I have looked at every gen 2 GT premium within a 250 mile radius. Naturally, I am biased but I really priced this car less than most and it is in far better condition than 99% of the ones I have seen. You should see what some of the dealers in the DFW area are asking for similar models but with extremely questionable mods.
