Many here may not remember (or cared a hoot at the time) but the Thunderbirds traditionally carried no 'Ford' logos. Ironic since the Lincoln version (Mark series) had 'Lincoln' plastered all over it. Apparently the Thunderbird was self broadcasting. Maybe that is the message on the Mustang as well; it is self identifying...everyone knows what it is!

My huge beef is those damn dealer decals some dealerships love to put on their cars. I'm glad I ended up having to wait a few days for my car to get diverted over to the place I bought it from because it wasn't until I was out in their lot one day just looking at all the rest of their mustangs one of the times I stopped by after work to bug them over whether it had been pulled off the railcar it got shipped in on. Every damn car had that decal above the drivers side tail light. I caught the salesman and told him when they get my car, I really didn't want that on it unless they wanted to give me an advertising discount on all my monthly payments haha.
Same here... Mine was a dealer trade. They took off the orig sticker above the driver side tail light and placed their own. While taking off the orig they scratched the paint all to hell. I stopped by the night before delivery and saw it. I called the next morning and told them to remove their sticker and fix the paint.

Upon pick up they did what I requested, but the sales manager made a smart ass comment about " you are killing me with the removal of our logo". My reply " Your killing me with your half ass treatment of my $40k car before I even take delivery, feel free to cancel my purchase if it's that big a deal" He shut his trap after that.

The absence of Ford badges is one of my favorite parts of the exterior. Not that I dislike the logo or anything like that (I went out on Sunday Funday wearing a tank top with a big ford logo on it), it's just that I like having a car that's instantly recognizable as something unique so manufacturer branding isn't necessary.

Better than my '12 SS Camaro had with the hugh hideous gold bowtie emblem on the front grille and trunk lid. Got a bowtie delete and removed it from the trunk lid.
I had a '12 SS too and did the same. Hideous is a good description of the giant bowtie.I forgot to put mine in the car when I traded,so I still have it.
I have blacked out my grill pony.

Yep, every car I have purchased new I have told the dealership to not put on/remove their dealer logo. If not, I would require a monthly advertisement fee.

Personally, I don't think a tiny Blue Oval Ford logo would be a bad thing...If I were the person at Ford who chose the final appearance of the Mustang, I would have put a really small blue oval on either the upper left or lower right of the black rear plastic where the current Pony or fake gas cap goes...just enough to let you know who made it ;) Definitely not current F-Series Super Duty sized

Was kind of surprised the 50th Anniversary edition didn't have "F O R D" lettering in a serif font added to the nose above the grille ;) (like the 1964 1/2 had...)

I like the "less is more" approach to design. Beauty in minimalism. There is a Ford logo in the window... that's plenty.

I think with the Mustang it sells itself, its like the UK and US Owners clubs they are just called Mustang. I think Ford wanted the car to be their marque car, when you think of Bullitt you think of Mustang
On the SN95 when they had Mustang written into the bumper, that was them saying this is a Mustang, and the S197 carried on, but without the horrible bumper
I owned a Ford Escort and Capri, for me the S197 was in another league, and i have never agreed with people who say the Capri was the UK version of the Mustang.
So I dont want the Ford Badge on the car, as the Mustang is way way above any other Ford in my opinion

I was happy to see it wasn't covered in logos!
