I am thinking about running my car at the track with open headers. Has anyone tried this? I may do open headers or headers and pipe.

Lund said I need more pipe behind the o2 to keep the signal good. I may run it with the pipe and turn downs.

I was thinking about doing this to get my car to the exhaust shop down a few miles from my house.

I mean, plenty of people do that

It won't make you any faster. It'd sound cool, sure.

Make sure your track is okay with the noise level. Some have noise level requirement.

Full ARH system with no cats H pipe and muffler delete is stupid loud I had my car setup like this for one day and threw the ARH mufflers back on....trust me you don't want that for a daily driver, track only yes. Side note: the idle sounds like a mustang should sound loud and semi choppy, too bad it comes at the expense of everyone within 2 miles while driving

It would drop like 75lbs though.
I've seen some cars with cutouts lose power on the dyno, I imagine this would happen if you ran open header and negate the weight loss.

I could be totally wrong though, I'm not a mech engineer I work in IT.

I have a set of electric qtp cutouts. When I'm ready to wake the dead then I open them up, they closed for errthang else.

You'll screw up the heat sheilding under the car. Not recommended.
