I've only got about 300 miles on my '16 GT, but the engine is a little noisy. I'm probably just extra worried about engine noise because of all the horror stories I've read/heard. Between the post oil change "igniter" tick and just ticking/knocking noise in general I'm a bit worried.
Most report their noises only show up when the cars are fully up to temp, so I'm wondering in slightly thicker/heavier viscosity oil may help. I'd imagine the main reason ford calls for 5w20 is for fuel mileage. The s197 track pack cars called for 5w50.....I'm thinking 5w30 may help quiet the engine just a little? I've got a long way to go before my first oil change (another theory is that changing oil too soon can be problematic) but I'm just thinking out loud
So...anyone use 5w30?
