Regarding injectors, I see most suppliers offer them as an option. Are they needed regardless of how much boost or what type of supercharger? Is a boost a pump also needed regardless?
Depending on set-up, you can do a BAP and a drop in DW400 and it will take you very far. @engineermike has done extensive testing on the subject and gained a lot of insight into the fueling capabilities of that set-up.

ā€œExtensiveā€ or ā€œexcessiveā€?

But yes there are now a few cars running a single dw400 working with e85 in the 16-18 psi boost range. It will do more than most give it credit for.

I'm in "it's fun, but I wouldn't do it again" camp. Mainly because I have no interest in drag racing, and it's mostly unusable on the street unless you're willing to take significant risks and consequences of being pulled over for 2x over the speed limit violations. Plus, the headache of dealing with failed cats or messing with catless setups is just not something I needed in life.

The idea of having a toy with monstrous power is very exciting at first, but over time it becomes just a car that you cannot really floor anywhere unless you take it to a track.
I own a 2018 Mustang GT Premium, PP1, Magne-Ride, 10 speed automatic, Active exhaust with Borla S-Type cat-back exhaust with Roush TVS R-2650 Phase 1 supercharger dealer installed kit with 18, 500 miles. I don't track the car, it is strictly a street machine. What fun it is to do a rolling 40-120 mph blast.

I have replaced the passenger side catalytic convertor (caused by boost and WOT pulls). This is the price to be paid to own a super hot street machine. I am 69 years old and the thrill of acceleration this Mustang offers is ageless! I have not been sorry one bit for purchasing this performance automobile!

Nice color! Is it still on Roush tune? Their tunes tend to take all 9 lives from cats.

The Mustang GT still retains the Roush upgraded kit tune. My son has data-logged the drive data with HP Tuners. No changes made. The current tune runs rich at WOT, so we have added approximately a 20% blend of ethanol to 91 octane gas (highest octane available at the pump in North Dakota). The WOT long term trims now sit around 11.0-11.4 with that 20% ethanol mixture. Runs great! We will see if it extends catalytic convertor life?

I'm in "it's fun, but I wouldn't do it again" camp. Exactly my view after having owned my pullied and tuned '07 GT500. Virtually useless on street rubber. 0-60"ish", that was fun, better let off before I get arrested. It was fun terrifying hapless passengers drifting it through intersections on dry pavement though.

That car was one big reason why I bailed on pursuing a new '22 GT500 at the time, it would have just been a higher cost garage queen than my lowly GT for my use case. My mildly modded '15 blows off the 305 rears handily through first as it is.

I think I'm getting old.

So this has been extremely beneficial and thank you to everyone who has responded! Between your posts and the poll I'm getting a pretty good feel for what the community's high-level thoughts are.

I don't track mine, don't want the noise of long tubes, and want minimal risk of damaging or needing to upgrade other parts - just a little extra pep on back roads. Combining that with your input I contacted ESS and Wengerd for recommendations and they came back with:

125 mm pulley (7 psi)
GT500 injectors
Don't bother with E85 and the expense of a fuel system - just use a BAP
Standard G3 intercooler

Not sure what kind of HP that would make but I'd imagine over 600, and the cost including the tune would be around $7,500.

That's a lot of bank so it's a not gonna happen right away but at least now I have a game plan. Thanks again everyone!

I would recommend talking to the tuner first and buying a setup that is going to be a stage 2 or whatever they want to call it right out of the gate, instead of starting with the smallest pulley and cheapest kit, then upgrading/changing individual things down the road. Cheaper and easier to just do it the first time on the 'high' setting.

No point in starting at 7psi for example, go straight to 10

I did talk to Wengerd and told him I'm more interested in avoiding having to replace my cats and clutch than getting the most power out of it, so that's how he came up with what I posted.

No issues but; I dont have alot of miles to really give an opinion as to longevity versus power demand, reliability. I think their are quite a few good choices on SC systems. Just depends what your expectations are and what your present and future goals are with regard to HP, Track course etc.

where do you plan to go with your car as far as HP.
Year: 2019
Trim: GT PP1 401A
Manual / auto: Auto
Rear gears: Stock
Blower mfr & type: Whipple Stage 2 3.0
RWHP (if known): around 900whp
Tuner: Wengerd

Currently I have a 21GT with a built bottom end, T56 Mag XL swap and vortech v3 kit with a triple pump fuel system on e85. If I could do it all over again, I would do the transmission swap first.
I'm not shitting on the MT82...I put 30k hard miles at over 800rwhp on mine, and it did very good. but it's not nearly as good as a T56mag

Well everyone I appreciate all of your input, and a special shoutout to @Brevin and @SheepDog for the above-and-beyond help they provided understanding all this stuff.

ESS kit through @Brevin is on the way, and will be ordering the tune from @Wengerd Performance.
